Leaves Reem on the sideline for awhile.
I think coming off a loss, a big foot type fight is interesting for Fedor, a Werdum fight would be optimal, depending on when he's healthy, and Reem vs Barnett in the mean time. Does Barnett really deserve a title shot his first fight in SF though?? Werdum is the lone SF fighter who really deserves a title shot, but, he's hurt and wants the Fedor rematch above anything.
Barnett is on a 6 fight win streak, a former UFC champion, and a very recognizable name. Perfect scenario? Nah, that went out the window with the Fedor loss. Best case scenario? IMO, yeah. Even the roid issue is scaled back considering he's fighting Reem. I guess but I just dont like the idea of signing Barnett and giving him a title shot as his first fight.

| I am talking about the "hotly rumored" fight between Overeem and Fedor(who M-1 wants nothing to do with if you remember). Giving a guy coming off a loss in just 69 seconds a title shot means that belt means less than nothing. Especially since the last title shot was given to a guy coming off a loss as well. The "death blow" is nonexistent because him having fought does not erase the last two years of inactivity stateside. If he fights in October it can start to be forgotten if he plans to remain at least 2-3 fights a year active in Strikeforce. | |

Dude is 14-2, one of those losses being a very close decision to Werdum in which Silva supposedly broke a hand or something. And outboxing AA over 3 rnds was pretty impressive. Fights right at the 265 limit. 30 yrs old. But he's not UFC caliber? Why? Cause his head is too big for his body?

U can't say he won't fight in the US, when he did just fight in the US. Sorry, doesn't hold water.

| And so since he fought one time since winning the belt back in 2007 suddenly that long stretch where he found time to fight seven fights elsewhere didn't happen? To say he wouldn't fight in the US for Strikeforce holds as much water as Lake Eerie. Don't say it wasn't because of a lack of contenders. Fujita(these days), Hunt(these days), Josh thompson, Tae Hyun Lee, Gary Goodridge(these days), and Tony Sylvester are hardly the kind of guys a Champion would be fighting if he was looking for true contenders. | |

| Never got the hate for Antonio Silva. He's a good all around fighter. He's a guy who is 265 pounds that actually has TECHNICAL ABILITY both on the feet and on the ground. He's skilled enough to give guys like Fedor, Werdum, AA, etc. problem and he's a physical match for the chongo, gorilla motherfuckers. I just don't see what is not to like about the guy.
People hate on him and talk about "well he did steroids or he's an oddity" but can't give any reason why he is not legit. Arlovski is a great win considering the fact that he outclassed one of the most well rounded fighters in the division in every phase of the game. He was a silly decision of following a knocked down Werdum to the ground and costing himself a round away from still being on a very nice win streak with very quality wins.
I've liked Bigfoot since EliteXC. No reason he can't be one of the best HW's in the world and i would really like to see Fedor/Silva next and i think Silva could use a lot of things to his advantage in a fight with Fedor....but of course, if Bigfoot were to beat Fedor than it would not be because Bigfoot is legit but because Fedor needs to retire.

| agree Kings I enjoy Big Foot, but if he beat Fedor, past it or not that would be a huge stain on Fedors resume
I doubt that would happen but Big Foot could give him alot of problems standing IMO

| Sorry, I have just never been impressed by him. I mean fine have DW give him a shot, I think he may be a decent gatekeeper at the lower end of the HW division. I definately do not equate him with championship material. | |

If we are talking Silva? My guess is no, but GG is so up and down that I am forced to guess.

| It's kind of crazy to think Josh was ranked the #2 HW just 12 months ago by a lot of sites that do divisional rankings. He isn't top ten now while being really the same fighter he has always been. | |
