On Boxingscene:

"Erik Morales' Father Expects Big Win over Willie Limond"

I read it. It was too sad to post here. When his dad is referring to a "BIG WIN OVER WILLIE LIMOND", I wish Morales had stayed retired, and we didn't have to see all of this.

Morales and Barerra-the allure of the Mexican boxing holy grail is too much for them.

Maybe a decade or so ago when I was lamenting some great fighter staying too long a boxing writer wrote "Fighter fight. It's what they do and who they are."

Very sad, but probably a great deal of truth in it.

I just hope Terrible isn't terribly damaged in his later years.

Barerra's fight with Khan was an ill-conceived idea.

The more recent chase for the Mexican holy grail by Barerra seems to have a purpose. Get a shot at Soto (best shot Barerra has at winning another belt).

I feel like Barerra will not get permanently damaged chasing his goal (somehow he'll get through relatively unscathed).

Morales-I worry about him. He doesn't have a path that will be doable. I fear that he is going to be rather damaged in his later years if he doesn't give up this charade.

Hopefully, Juan Manuel and Rafael Marquez don't end up in a similar discussion pretty soon. Both of those mexican warriors need to start considering life beyond boxing.
