| floyd mayweather in miami with his family attending a basketball function finaly comments but says nothing...its on the espn home page..floyd simply said im not rushing into anything..i fought just 60 days ago and now im relaxing and supporting my family.im not talking boxing...well hes still resting from the mosley fight and it takes a lot of energy to talk about boxing or resent events i guess..there you have it..the man who likes to talk has nothing to say to his fans or what should be left of them... i didnt see last nights fights but angullo is a factor at 154 no doubt.still needs fine tunning but the power and combinations are there..bradley i watched clips of him..fast hands agressive but easy to hit with a left hook and other shots..hes a big factor at 140..at 147 hes in trouble. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5390665 Floyd Mayweather Jr. allowed a deadline for striking a deal on a superfight with Manny Pacquiao to pass without saying anything. A day later, Mayweather indicated that his stance wouldn't be changing anytime soon. "I'm not interested in rushing to do anything," Mayweather told The Associated Press. Appearing in Miami on Sunday as a coach at a charity basketball game hosted by Dwyane Wade and Alonzo Mourning, Mayweather happily fielded questions about the NBA. But when talk turned to boxing -- and Pacquiao in particular -- the fighter known as Money simply wouldn't respond. Mayweather's camp did not respond to a deadline early Saturday put in place by Pacquiao promoter Top Rank for exclusive negotiations, which has put what could be the richest fight in boxing history in doubt. Mayweather and Pacquiao are clearly the two biggest stars in the sport but have not signed a deal despite months of negotiations. "I'm not really thinking about boxing right now," Mayweather said. "I'm just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I'm just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation." Mayweather has appeared at the event Mourning founded known as the Summer Groove in past years, plus has grabbed courtside seats at Heat games during previous trips to Miami. But there was a certain irony to his appearance Sunday: Mayweather was a coach on the bench that the Heat occupy, sitting in the seat that Miami coach Erik Spolestra uses during games. Spolestra is of Filipino descent, and is a huge Pacquiao fan. "I'm supporting all basketball players because I'm a fan of basketball," Mayweather said. Pacquiao already has agreed to an equitable split of the earnings from the megafight, along with extensive drug testing. The two sides nearly came to terms earlier this year, but the fight didn't happen then because Pacquiao was reticent about blood testing close to a fight. Pacquiao ended up routing Joshua Clottey before about 50,000 fans at Cowboys Stadium in March, while Mayweather easily defeated Shane Mosley in May. Although he hasn't spoken directly to Mayweather, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said he believes the former pound-for-pound champion might be reluctant to fight this year because of the legal woes of Roger Mayweather, his uncle and longtime trainer. Roger Mayweather will go on trial in Las Vegas next month on assault charges stemming from an altercation with a female boxer last year. If the fight with Mayweather doesn't happen, Pacquiao could fight recently crowned junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, whom he's already defeated, or former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito. Arum said that Pacquiao plans to fight Nov. 13 regardless of the opponent. As for Mayweather, well, only he seems to know. "Like I said, I'm just supporting my family and relaxing," Mayweather said. "That's what I'm doing right now." | |

| And this finally puts to rest the debate of who was preventing the fight from happening.
Mayweather is ducking PacBitch.
I always felt the fight wouldn't happen.

| He last fought over 2 months ago, the proposed fight is 4 months away- and he's worried about rushing into it ?
Isn't this the same guy who only a couple of months ago said he is back and he wants to remain active and fight Pac ?
So the guy who is in national congress can make the fight but the guy who owns a non-existent entertainment company can't find the time 6 months after his last fight?

| He has no respect for the sport, its fighters, and for the fans that made him overpaid.
All he had to do was make that statement a couple of weeks after the Mosley fight.
The last couple months of Floyd carrying on this farce for his personal amusement, resulted in fighters sitting and waiting.
PW-waiting on Pac and Floyd as that is what he wanted Martinez-waiting on PW who was waiting on Pac vs Floyd Bradley not lining up a showdown at 140 as he wanted to be available for Floyd or Pac Berto-in limbo as everyone involved at 147 is waiting on Pac vs Floyd

| Hopefully now that this negotiation (farce) is completely over, things can fall into place for the remainder of the fighting year.
Pac gets signed for a fight vs Cotto or Margo (not that I like either fight) Bradley doesn't get the Pac fight, Floyd is sitting rest of the year apparently, so he has to fight one of the other elites at 140 (a fight I love) PW doesn't get Pac, Floyd isn't fighting, and hopefully he takes the martinez rematch (a fight that needs to happen). With Martinez and PW signed to fight, then guys at 160 or 154 who would love to fight either have to make other plans and we get some decent fights hopefully

| There are a lot of questions:
1. Who the hell was Arum negotiating with? 2. How did someone in Floyd's camp not pass this along to the negotiators? 3. Why did information concerning the fight go public?
I thought the whole point of these negotiations were to keep things silent so words in the media wouldn't mess up the negotiations (this started to happen towards the end), but now "apparently" they weren't even negotiating?
4. How can they negotiate in the future?
I think they need to get everyone involved together in one room or on a video conference to eliminate middle men and work towards making concessions and finding solutions.
5. Will this fight ever happen?
Time is working against Floyd, not with him.
6. Will anyone fight Berto? 7. Will any more information get leaked about the "negotiations" now that they've fallen through. 8. When will Freddie Roach make his "I knew Mayweather was afraid of Pacquiao comment?"

| Mayweather should be required to post a large, non refundable bond before any further negotiations take place in the future to ensure the other parties' time isn't wasted if Floyd decides to act in bad faith. Same goes for the loudmouth hypejob Haye.
The Mayweathers are truly revolting people.

| Now Floyd's camp has come out and said there were no negotiations.
I find Arum to be an asshole, but it would be a large lie for him to say that he was talking to HBO, HBO was talking to Floyd's people.
If Arum were making the entire thing up, all you have to do is go ask the HBO people. Would be a rather stupid lie.
And there is the whole De La Hoya saying a deal was close. So a deal was close but no one was ever negotiating???
sounds awful thin to me.

| I'm about as likely to believe there were no negotiations as I am to believe Mel Gibson is calm, rather thoughtful, believes in all religions, and doesn't drink. | |

| I don't dispute that, Arum has used it as a PR game. Still no excuse for Floyd's side to respond with the garbage they responded with. If I were Floyd's camp i would come out and spell out in intricate detaill all the ways that Arum has misrepresented how the negotiations were occuring. The fact that they didn't do so is telling. | |

| What's coming to light is that the promoters did a terrible job trying to make the fight. I'm sure both sides had some understanding of what was going on. But negotiating through an intermediary? Why bring in another middle man and up the degree of difficulty? It's becoming clear that there was a big miscommunication which makes sense because the camps went about things like idiots. It amazes me how incompetent these people are and they're at the top of their profession. They need to sit everyone down at the table and film it. There is no accountability anywhere and it hurts the sport. |
