Megalania by bite and weave. He would sit back and wait for the other to die. Toxic saliva wins every time. Komodo dragons bite and wait for prey to die, so I see this going the same way. Not to mention Megalania is twice it's size.

In a brute strength showdown head to head, a full sized Megalania wins most of the matchups. However, the bite strength of the Ambulocetus and it's mammalian brain give it other advantages. An unsuspecting megalania at the water wouldn't have a chance to struggle before it was snatched and drowned by an ambulocetus.

Ultimately though, the size and infectious bite of megalania means that even it it loses an occassional match, it eventually becomes a draw a few days or weeks later.

I pick megalania.

It really depends on if Ambulocetus can trick Megalania to fight his game. Megalania can swim but it isn't nearly as agile in the water and can't hold it's breath for long. As a crocodilian style predator, the bite force of an Ambulocetus would be significantly stronger and more damaging.

On land Megalania wins most of the time but if this goes down at the waters edge it is 50 50 or even a sight advantage Ambulocetus.
