Mercer vs Sparks re-booked for KOTC Sep.17

After their first meeting fell by the wayside, Ray Mercer (1-0) and Ron Sparks (5-0) are set to duke it out in the cage.

Mercer, an Olympic gold medalist and former world champion boxer, will meet undefeated super heavyweight Sparks at King of the Cage's "No Mercy" on Sept. 17 at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut. The event is expected to air live on HDNet.

Technically he is, his loss to Kimbo was an exhibition and not sanctioned by the NJ Athletic Commission so the bout has no meaning at all.

I don't think they count that "exibition" with Kimbo. It isn't even listed on Sherdog in his record.

Sparks you're making all of us who championed you as a worthy opponent for Lashley and as a guy who could make actual noise at HW look really bad. Starting to want to root for Mercer here.

Sparks is rumored to be fighting all over the place. Bellator, SF, now Mercer.

Hopefully at some point he actually gets into the cage. I see no shame in a Mercer fight. Couture is fighting Toney. so if you're sparks why the fuck not?
