| When the best fought the best. yes i will rant and rave about this anytime i get a chance. even though i'm one of the younger guys that posts here i still can say i've watched countless times that ali, fraizer, foreman, liston and countless others fought each other. then you had the guys like duran, leonard, hagler, hearns, etc... all fight each other. i get that boxing also has a business side to it but these joke promoters like arum and don king ruin the sport. i'll give the 140 lb. division the benefit of the doubt with bradley, maidana, alexander, and khan all wanting to fight each other, but other than that this is what really ticks me off about boxing anymore. people let money blind them. | |

| I think boxing depends on two things. (1) A hot HW division .(2) Superfights. Right now, the HW division is about as exciting as watching grass grow and somebody's trying to bullshit their way out of a superfight. Most fighters follow the behavior of the biggest names in the sport. Don't worry. What we have is a temporary situation. Once a certain fighter takes himself out of the way, or somehow the HW division can give us something to look at, other fighters will follow suit. | |

Sure, if they fight everyone is going to follow their example. If they don't fight, Manny will set the sport on fire himself and everyone will want to fight him. Either one will help the sport out immensely.

| That makes sense and like i said i'll give the 140 lb. division the benefit of the doubt because you've got the top four guys wanting to fight each other it's just a matter of getting the fights made. i don't know frank i guess i'm just one of those hardcore fans in the sense of i want to see the best fight the best. | |

| We all want to see it, Deezy. Just my opinion but I''m blaming Floyd Mayweather for a lot of this. I hope that doesn't turn this thread into a Manny vs. Floyd post. lol: Floyd has exceptional talent and a fight between him and Manny can bring the sport back alive. Or, Floyd can hold the sport hostage and hold up everything while he's pretending to be interested in a fight he'll never sign for, no matter what the conditions. Hell, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Floyd would fight Manny if "Dracula" himself was doing the blood testing. | |

| i don't think it'll turn into a floyd manny post hopefully. if it does i hope our mods will move it to the garbage bin. but to me it's not just this fight i mean there's fights all throughout the other "major" divisions that could be getting made and aren't | |

| Too many belts/sanctioning bodies. Makes it easy to keep a belt without really fighting anybody.
In the old days if you were the champion it just seems like the contenders would be around a lot more bugging the champ and goading them into a match. With only one belt to go around per division, they kind of had to in order to get a title shot.
