- Kikuno is an excellent fighter but i agree with the decision, IMO, i think JZ was getting worked by the ref in the final 5 minutes.
He made him give up the rear naked choke...it's up to Kikuno to push the action there and try to get out of his position...plus, why was it that when Manhoef was in deep shit in the corner and the ropes were getting in the way the first time Mizuno had position, they decided to move it to the center of the ring to make room while in this fight Kikuno was clearly using the ropes to his advantage and they never decided to move it to the center of the ring.
I gave the close first 10 to Kikuno but the last 5 was too dominant not to give JZ.
Awesome fight though. Japan does what it can to help their fighters out. You see a little in every fight. It is getting pretty sad how a Japanese fighter can grab the rope and not get his hand smacked asap like any other fighter from another country. Even in the JZ fight I saw it. It isn't just the rope thing either. It is also what you mentioned.

| Aoki made short work of him alright. He made that look easy. Not sure why he couldn't get anything at all going with Gil. | |

Yeah but he made it look so easy with Kawajiri and I am still amazed with how he got dominated by Gil like that.

| I watched a few of the fights. More smells kinda fishy anti climatic impossible in the states Aoki sub finishes with moves fighters only ever lose to in single digit UFC events or to Aoki. Apparenly Manhoef lost to that nobody. Didn't watch that whole fight. Gegard sub'd dude with a weird looking sub too.
I donno if I'll ever be back for another Dream event. Fighter quality ever declining, fights happen here routinely that never happen in the states.

| I doubt it's a fix. Hirota really didn't have too long to tap before Aoki turned his arm into an inverted chicken wing. I think it's alot like Rousimar Palhares, Aoki has a ninja grip and when he grabs something he torques until the ref pulls him off. In this case Kawajiri didn't tap when he should have and got himself fucked up for his troubles. | |

| Is his shit really broken? I rolled my eyes when Kawajiri didn't pull his leg out instantly when he could have. Takada Coleman came rushing back.

| i guarantee that not only was his ankle fucked his knee popped
when you torque like that on an ankle it sends the shockwaves up the leg, the pressure point is the knee cap, i guarantee his shit popped considering he sat in a deep ass ankle lock for a good 30 seconds and then Aoki really torqued the shit out of it and he tapped instantly

| Ya wasn't a fix. Just strange to see leglocks be that effective. If he was doing this in a cage to decent level guys then I'd believe it a little easier. Is it the quality of fighter? He wore shorts this time so at least here it wasn't the pants. Is he that much better? Are his opponents that much worse? Aoki should take a fight with someone like Conner Huen in Strikeforce, just so I can see for myself. | |

| Kawajiri was/is a badass is 7-3 in his last 10 fights with the losses to Eddie Alvarez, Aoki, and Gil Milendez, wins over JZ Calvacante and Azeredo in that span, plus has a HUGE win over Yves Edwards in 2003 when Edwards had a claim for being the best Lightweight in the world
Aoki is just that much better than al the other japs right know IMO

| I picked the Crusher to win that fight and know all about him dawg. He did this to Eddie Alvarez and Hellboy too, it's just hard to believe.
I'd imagine his career in America would resembe Maia's if played right. When his game works it's domiant and amazing but when it doesn't it makes for an embarrassing and ineffective performance. Jake Shield will suffer this also. Wait for it.
Aoki best leglocks ever?

| out of 27 wins, Ken had 23 by submission, and if I remember right 13 where by ankle, heel, or knee locks
out of 24 wins Aoki has 15 submission, with only 2 coming by way of heel hook or achilles lock
he gets guys with gogo's, arm bars, and triangles mainly

| Surprised it was only two, wow actually. The two he has are big though. So you think he targeted Kawajiri for this sub specifically because he knew it was a favorable matchup lengthwise?
who could this guy beat in the UFC?

| I definitely think when he shot for that leg he was like ok im gonna get this and your right those 2 subs were so big it makes him seem like the god of ankles
guys that arent amazingly over powering wrestlers, I think Penn and Edgar beat Aoki but I would not be shocked if Aoki subbed Pellegrino, Joe Stevenson, Bocek, and this is gonna sound crazy but would not be surprised at all if he beat Storouplius or Florian

| Edgar isn't big enough to Melendez Aoki is he? I think Penn, maybe Maynard(however if this touches the ground it's over) Evan Dunham(though ground inexperience again worries me) and Sean Sherk represent his toughest challenges in the UFC.
The Spencer Fishers, Denis Silvers, Melvin Gulliards, whoever that Brit Tuf winner was, ect types are all sure fire losses.
He'd strangle Varner or Cowboy and Smooth for that matter as well.

Aoki best leglocks ever? Shields??? He has Jits and Wrestling so I don't see him being in that category.
