Just found out a pretty good buddy of mine that I went to high school with just drowned and passed away just a little bit ago.

Those kids are stupid as fuck for leaving him by himself in the water when they most likely knew he couldnt swim.

I feel bad for my dude Joey though, tried to save him...but joey is pretty much a midget...only about 5'0 maybe 5'1 and like 135 lbs...there's no way he coulda saved Myron.

No disrespect to your boy regret, but he should have been taught how to swim in school. My gym teacher used to meet with parents and make sure everyone knew how to swim by the time they hit highschool. He would even go as far as taking a canoe in the 10ft pool and he would show us how to get back in a canoe if it tipped over. Then he would make us get in it after that. The guy made sure all of us knew what we were doing. I wish more gym teachers were dedicated like Chuck Mensching. RIP Myron!

I taught myself how to swim before I ever moved to Norton. But after going to that high school, it wasnt really a big school, they didnt have pools or anything to teach people how to swim.

None of the schools had that luxury in that city.

Not to mention he was a foster kid his whole life and was always movin around.

i had a friend who never learned to swim cause a kid he knew drowned growing up and it scared him into never getting in the water

also alot of schools dont have ppools, my highschool used to have one, then a kid drowned in the 70s so it got drained and turned into the firing range for ROTC

My bad man. All of the schools here have atleast one pool. I just figured from the time you get to high school it should be taught by a gym teacher like it was here. I am having a problem with my 5 year old boy and swimming. He is more scared then any of my others. He won't give me the time of day when I have him in the pool. His bros and sis are great swimmers and knew how to swim by the time they were 5 or when they were 5. I just think that is something that anyone should be forced to learn. Too bad this guy didn't have the support in his life. It is a shame and a waste. Sounds like he had overcome great obstiacles and tried hard in school and sports.

I hope someone kicks that kid in the face for what he said.

you are right though BBC I think everyone that makes it to highschool should learn how to swim if only to help them out in a dangerous situation later in life just how you have to take CPR class and stuff

Sorry for the loss. Not cool to point out someones weakness during the mourning period. I have issues with the black populace where I live because they don't teach their kids to swim and we end up with a lot of drownings, but I sure wouldn't be posting shit on a FB account about it and trying to make jokes during a tragedy.

Whatever you do NR, just remember he happened to be one of those good people that survived the foster care system and was reachig for the stars.
