was a tough as nails Light Heavyweight, 103 wins 9 losses 6 draws, 60 KOs

from 1936-1937 fought 40 times, going 36-3-1 won the title in 1935 against Bob Olin

dont know much about him whats yalls opinions on him?

im somewhat familar with him..a good solid LH champ.not a top ten one but a top 15..good boxer-puncher very cleaver and beat some fantastic fighters..a little unknown fact is he fought a few years and was champ while being litterly legaly defined by today standards blind..my dad saw him fight a few times and said early in his career he killed a guy in the ring that effected him for a few years..
giving you an idea of his talent today he would be extremly dominate over dawson johnson and company.

A TREMENDOUS fighter. Lost only a handful of fights at light heavy with most of his losses coming to heavies. A classic boxer puncher. About the same size as Roy Jones. Beat at least 15 different ranked guys on 20+ occasions.

Dmar is probably right though. The light heavies are a loaded division historically and Lewis probably doesn't make the top ten.
