no, most would thought Sylvia and def AA were bigger threats. I thought Grim was a bigger threat.

Fedor was on his way to a first round TKO via mauling until he got sub'd being reckless against the best HW submission artist by far in the sport right now. None of Fedor's UFC or Affliction opponents could do that to him.

Brock, Carwin and Cain could up him on his back though

There has to be some logical reason for Fedor to pass up the money the UFC was throwing at him.Perhaps at this point of his career he was reluctant to get in the cage with a guy like Lesnar.

Fact is, Werdum could have knocked Fedor's ass out tonight and people would not be giving him credit simply because it was not under UFC's banner.

I don't hate him as much as I hate his fans who elevate him too highly. Version of the same reason people hate(d) Fedor/Floyd/Pride/TUF stars whatever. Brock also tends to bring a WWE contingent that is very disrespectful to the sport outside the UFC, and I hate that. I also just tend to not like the way he is and his personality. Same reason people hate Tito and Hughes and Bisping ect.


I didn't say top five, I said top ten. You don't sub Fedor. No one does. Werdum is the best submission HW in history with this win. Sorry Pedro Rizzo, make room for Werdum. MMA has been around less than 20 years, doesn't take much to get onto the top ten list all time.


If Brock beat Fedor I would have gave him the credit he deserved. Most fighters I hate when I think they're overrated. All you got to do is validate yourself and be a true fighter and I'll be swayed. Forrest, Rashad and Koscheck used to be hated fighters by me too when they were praised too highly by TUF kiddies. They earned their place.

Brock imo hasn't. I've explained the rationale why I believe this 100000 times.

If Brock beats all these guys in the UFC I won't hate him nearly as much. No reason to. Unlike Tito bashers if he has a good career I'll be able to separate that from his douchebaggery. Until he wins though, I'll be questioning him.

Example ; I hate Matt Hughes. I hate his guts in fact. However, Hughes is clearly still a top ten caliber WW, but people who hate him have evicted him off the top ten list in favor of clowns like Swick and Thiago and Kampmann with a tiny fraction of the skill and resume. Why? Because he is a complete shithead.

Example 2 ; I used to hate BJ Penn's guts, I picked him to get dominated by GSP and generally didn't support him much during greasegate. I picked him to brutalize Kenny Florian when many were saying Kenflo would beat him easily simply because they didn't like him due to his complaining after the GSP loss.

Wolf you make some points I won't argue that. But most people picked Kenny because BJ, up until that point, had shitty Cardio and everybody knows that Kenny doesn't. I don't think anyone would say Kenny is more talented than BJ, because Penn is really a natural.

Brock does bring a group of flunkies from the WWE and TUF did and does bring in a lot of new fans, who have very limited views and even less knowledge of the sport than anybody here. But like it or not, we need those people to help the sport grow and garner the respect it so deserves.

Brock is a douche and he did make the sport look like shit on its biggest night in history. He also manned up and apologized (after an ass chewing of ginormous proportions) after wards. He is an arrogant ass and I am not a fan, but you cannot deny he has the skill set to be where he is and do what he does. People hated Jeff Gordon for the same thing when he appeared on the scene and took props away from Dale, but it didn't mean he didn't belong.

Nascar fans hate Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson because they don't represent the sickening southern racist stereotype good ol'boy schtick.

I'm a NASCAR fan, and those are my 2 favorite drivers. Jimmie being number one by far. I was a Jeff Gordon fan growing up, and grew to be a Jimmie Johnson fan when he finished 2nd in points twice in a row. He followed that season up with a 5th place finish and since then, nothing but winning championships! Gotta love the guy.
