| From Dan Rafael's blog
• They're not talking about it publicly, and there's always a chance it won't happen, but Top Rank and HBO PPV are looking at Dec. 4 as the date for a possible Antonio Margarito-Miguel Cotto rematch. Margarito, of course, still needs to be licensed in the United States. And, of course, if Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather doesn't happen, all bets are off because they could become opponents for Pacquiao's November fight.
WOW
Lets do it!! Can you imagine the build up if we get both of these fights this year...man

| Yea man, a no brainer rematch
It deserves massive hype, shit they can make a documentary about the first fight lol
This fight could be huge, especially if its right after Pac-Floyd
Hopefully both get done

| They had better give Cotto the tall end of the split if it happens. | |

I agree, but would love to see Cotto get his revenge This is a rematch that has everything you want -- a villain, cheating, Mexico vs PR, a new weight class, Cotto w/Steward now....its BIG

| Normally I'd agree Ali. Margarito walks through Cotto again. The only question is who has more left. Margarito got destroyed by Mosley and has been taking face shots his entire career. He may have reached the threshold where an iron chinned guy loses his punch resistance. Plus, Margarito looked rather lackluster in his comeback fight.
Cotto isn't the same as before Margo fight, Margarito very likely isn't the same fighter. That is what makes it very interesting to me.
Plus, what if Margo had the gloves loaded for years? Interesting fight with alot of story lines.

| Margacheato was getting soundly outboxed up until his cement gloves finally busted up Cotto's face.
Cotto would beat him, but I hope the cheater never gets his US license back.

| Those slow, looping punches won't have the same effect from a de-fanged Margarito. Cotto will go to the body this time and score a late round TKO.
I hope Margo just rots in TJ.

| Miguel's confidence hasn't recovered, Margarito still has that mental edge over him. I agree that Tony is on the decline but he's still going to be an ironed chinned full grown Jr Middleweight with good stamina, I don't see Manny Steward making a big difference here, Miguel is still going to fade near the end and have that easy to cut skin. |

| all good points ali on cotto..margo i think has been threw many wars and yes is on the decline..the same can be said of cotto..there is no evidence margo was a cheater in the cotto fight or for his career..hand wraps are checxked by officals as they are put on and i find it hard to believe every time officals missed that...sorry again im in a huge minority with a unpopular opinion..pacs accused of being a cheater cause he wont bow down to floyds constant change in blood tests.he said ill do the test with that 14 day cutoff that floyd wanted..soo hes a cheater..look lets toss out all the wins toney had and mosley then..and the K brothers also..while we are at it hollifield too..see if roach is accused of being a steroid pusher then lets examine hollyfield for years lee haney has been his strenth coach as well as nutrion and conditioning adviser..whos lee haney..hes from atlanta georgia where hollifield resides and was a 7 time mr olympia winner..body builings greatest title and an admitted steroid user... lets just call it as it is..margo and cotto were 2 good fighters at one time that are now in a decline..at there best they were good but far from great fighters..nothing special..realy.. cotto is cotto and his habits are there forevere.he can have 10 manny stewards in his corner..that does not reverse the fact that hes not a great fighter nor a fighter whos best days are behind him.. its easy to say these fighters are cheaters and always were..that statement makes greens excuses seem more than valid..sorry thats how i feel..you guys may not like it but both fighters have taken beatings like a man..lets give them credit for that please. | |

| Margarito has never looked good at 154
Struggled vs Daniel Santos and loked terrible vs Robert Garcia where he was trying to box!
I agree with the majority here that the TJ Turd is likely done at the top level

| That's because Tony was facing men the same size as him who wouldn't crumble under pressure, Cotto isn't that strong willed nor his he a big Jr Middleweight. |
