| Yeah he still has wins over Bonnar, Forrest, Vera and Chuck. Also a good fight with Rampage. It would be his 4th straight loss and if he losses by KO that would be 3 in a row. | |

| I don't think he goes anywhere. He fights nothing but the top guys. Liddell, Wand, Page, Badar, Hamill, Thiago, Forrest, etc... He has only gotten a few lesser guys like Vera, Bonnar, and Houston. | |

At the time Bonnar was a much more respectable name. Houston just came into the UFC blazing and Vera isn't a bad name either.

| Even though Keith lost tonight, he gave a great performance and lost a close fight. His job is secure. |

| I think he should be cut but they'll probably keep him around. His days of beating anyone worth a damn are over though. Maybe they can give him to Phil Davis as a little step up here soon | |

| Hamill looked better than ever standing After a good first round for Keith, once he got rocked he reverted to dumbass slugfest mode and threw all his new tools out. He was completely broken mentally by that BS point deduction too.
Keith is washed up, and a huge over achiever.
Keith's single biggest contribution to MMA was proving Chuck Liddell was not a superior technical striker.

| If you can't deal with leg kicks, you're not a superior technical striker. Right farmer? | |

| Machida never lost a fight with leg kicks. Also, Machida makes other strikers look foolish, Chuck barely survived every fight he ever had strikers. Also Jardine leg kicks are significantly slower and have less range than a flying Shogun leg kick. I know it is difficult for us to accept Chuck Liddell was partially a fabrication. Hug? | |

| I don't love Tito. I rooted for Chuck in all their fights. I don't like how Tito's career is thrown aside, especially in the context of the absolute myth of Liddell.
Liddell was a better wrestler than he was a striker. He was a better striker than any other wrestler. Liddell was absolutely not a great striker.
You know Chuck Liddell in a large way is responsible for the perception among educated TMA and boxing people that the UFC has no talent bums?

| What is the myth of Liddell? That he was an elite or technical pure striker. He wasn't. His title run never happens if Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rich Franklin, Wanderlei when he had handspeed still, Brandon Vera or Keith Jardine face him for the title in late 05 or early 06.
A 40 year old wrestler in Couture(who was already losing his chin), an already declining Jeremy Horn, and Babalu would have all been destroyed by the best guys in Pride.
Not saying he wasn't a great fighter, but he isn't nearly as good as he is made out to be.

No it didn't, it was completely accidental. |

No it didn't, it was completely accidental. I think Herb realized that, but saw it as a damaging blow that deserved a point deduction.

| Very harsh in my opinion, Herb could have easily given Matt the time to recover. |

| That point deduction was completely unprecidented. Herb Dean makes tremendous errors too. | |

| I have always liked Jardine, but to suggest or think that he's of the level that should be competing in the UFC now is laughable... He's 6-7 in the UFC and has lost 4 straight (Something that would get any fighter not named Liddell, Couture or Gump fired). There's a big diffrence between the Jardine we saw put together a masterful game plan against Liddell 3 years ago and the Jardine of today. He's 34 and going in reverse... He really needs to find a home elsewhere, unless his goal is to accept a monster pay cut and be used as a stepping stone for young and talented guys working their way up as the #2 fight on undercards.
Oh, and I don't kill Dean for the point deduction as much as I kill him for stopping the action after buying into Hamill's act of looking like an ass clown going to his knees and holding his hand up like he's calling a time-out. Remember the old days when a ref wouldn't see a foul, didn't stop the action and a fighter would have to man the fuck up?... It's become more commonplace, but since when do the fighters dictate stoppages and dupe ref's into taking a point?
