| According to several reports in Mexico, Antonio Margarito and Kermit Cintron could fall in line to fight for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title. As previously broken on BoxingScene.com, Sergio Martinez gave up the WBC title at 154 and made a decision to continue as the WBC champion at 160-pounds. The current number one contender at 154 is Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., but the reports in Mexico suggest Chavez has outgrown the junior middleweight division. Chavez will be making his second appearance at middleweight next Saturday in San Antonio against John Duddy. The WBC's Silver title at 160 will be at stake. The press in Mexico do not see Chavez being able to work his weight back to 154. That leaves the door open for the WBC to order a fight with the two highest available contenders, which are Antonio Margarito at number two and Kermit Cintron at number three. Margarito has already fought Cintron twice and stopped him both times at the welterweight limit. Margarito is likely going to pass on the title shot as long as he's in position to fight Manny Pacquiao in November, if the Filipino fighter does not reach a deal with Floyd Mayweather Jr. If Pacquiao reaches a deal with Mayweather, Margarito might jump at the opportunity. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=28581Poor Ryan Rhodes will never get his title shot |

| how is Margarito ranked 2nd by any organization at any weight. He had loaded gloves, got caught, then got knocked the freak out. Then sits out for a year and his comeback fight was lackluster against a nobody.
I'm sick of the organizations. | |

| I was wondering the same thing. I guess you and I both know the answer to that: he is a well known name in Mexico.

| Hell I wouldn't mind seeing this again. I think Cintron might even be able to get revenge this time. | |
