PostSubject: Fights they’ll forget to tell their grandchildren about.   Fights they’ll forget to tell their grandchildren about. EmptyTue Jun 15, 2010 2:22 pm

Sometimes fighters are just plain embarrassed. Even the greatest warriors have had fights they’d rather forget and said things they wish they could take back. Here’s a list of some truly humbling moments for some of the most dangerous gladiators in the game.

1. Foreman vs. Frazier II. Joe Frazier shaves his head before the fight. He claims that the punches of George Foreman will “slide off of his head” as a result. The day after the fight, “The New York Times” had an interesting front page. A bald, Smoken Joe knocked up in the air courtesy of a “George Foreman” uppercut.

2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: Maybe it’s just me, but if I drank piss before a fight and still got my ass kicked, I’d keep it to myself.

3.Sonny Liston vs. Floyd Patterson II: Floyd was a fearless warrior with everyone but, Sonny Liston. Floyd Patterson was scared of Sonny Liston and for good reason. At this point in time(1963), Sonny was the most feared HW in the world apparently capable of decapitating a man with either hand. So sure of his eventual defeat, Floyd enters the building in disguise. An actual picture exists with Floyd donning black sunglasses, a moustache, beard and a hat. He was later knocked out in the first round by Liston, again. God Bless the late “Floyd Patterson.” He was one of the fastest fighters I ever saw. However, when Grandpa Floyd went into his boxing stories, something tells me that fight was left out.

4.Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson: Before this fight, Mike bit Lennox, threatened his children (which Lennox had none of.), acts disgusting and sickening with a female journalist, tells a reporter at the press conference “I’ll fuck you till you love me, faggot!” and literally tries to terrify and annoy the public at large with every television appearance. Result. He takes a beating from Lennox Lewis that ranks as one of the worst in HW history. Ringside observers claim they heard Mike making high yells when assaulted by Lewis such as “oooh” and “aaahhh.” Tyson was actually crying in his corner before the fateful, 8th round, where he would finally take a 10 count. After the fight, Mike says, “I’m just glad he didn’t kill me.” Now that I think of it, what quotes will “Grand Pa Mike” be able to tell his Grand Children about?

Other fight experiences welcome.

RuPaullie getting his hair extensions in his eyes. I'm not sure RuPaullie has children or if he even likes women.

Didnt Patterson bring the disguise to the first Liston fight not the rematch
????

thought this was an interesting quote from Patterson

Patterson later said he was embarrassed while down on the canvas and looking directly into the eyes of John Wayne at ringside
