Yep and to tell you the truth I don't know who to be more mad at. The Goverment or BP. I do still support off shore drilling, I just think people didn't do there jobs and let this shit happen. It's terrible

| I got an email of a company paying 18 to 20 bucks per hour to clean up the spill. Being layed off I might consider it if I wasn't already making much more than that with severance and unemployment. Still got like 6 months of pay before I'm stuck out. Hopefully I'll find a job before then!!! | |

Yeah no way I would do it, I'd have to be really desperate. Like I said I'm making a lot more than that right now sitting at home. And yeah, with a new baby on the way I wouldn't want to mess with that shit.

I know you were joking but actually the people doing the cleaning are the families who rely on the gulfs fishing industry. They got to feed their families some how. And now they have to rely on BP it's bullshit!

| I'd like to know how it's Obama's fault. Anyone one who has seen my posts on this stuff knows I don't like Obama at all but why is he responsible?
When everything is going great people say the government should keep their hands off, don't tax us, but then when the shit hits the fan, mostly because of executive's incompetence, it's Uncle Sam's responsiblity to fix the situation.
BP is solely responsible for this.
When you run down someone in your hometown, the city isn't held accountable, you are. Shouldn't be any different here. BP should have to pay the ENTIRE cost of this mess, plus a huge fine.

I agree about 80% to 90%. It's mostly on them. They, and similar corps, have the most power out there. Findings show that all the fast tracking they wanted they power through and got, leading to the third, possibly second by now, biggest oceanic oil spill ever.

The second he said it's his responsibility and the buck stops here, it became his oil spill. Problem is he's spending more time hanging out with celebrities, doing talks with Matt Lauer and listening to "smart people's" solutions than he is doing something about it. You can't fix or help an issue when you're too busy doing your own thing and going on TV and lying to the country about being on it from day one. Right now, this guy is making one bad decision after another and is in serious trouble of going down as one of the worst President's in memory, if not history. Jimmy Carter is laughing at the decisions this guy's making...

| The oil washing up on the beaches and in tidal marshes from the Gulf War Oil Spill is still significant in that region and studies hypothesize it will take decades for those types of periphery zones to recover. That spill is as of now about 5 times bigger though. | |

| At this point, a strong hurricane would "almost" be welcome now that hurricane season has arrived. I subscribe to the theory that some 160MPH winds will pick it up and dissipate it into such a fine mist and spread it over such a vast area that it will hardly be recognizable. Of course two problems with this... First is that they still don't have the leak under control, therefore the mess will just come back (Unless of course the actually get adeqate numbers of skimmers out there and allow burms to hold it back). Second is that the oil flying through the air might be fine enough to not do serious environmental damage inland, but still could be a health risk to people and animals breathing it in...
Ahhh, gotta love incompetent people dealing with and working on equipment that when broken can fuck the planet up...

| this isn't really a joking around type subject, although i guess you're just making light of the situation? This will go down as one of the worst disasters of all time. That part of the ocean and all the life in it is ruined forever. I just feel lucky i dont live down there and don't have to deal with that mess on a day-to-day basis. | |

I apologize for the Doc Rivers comment. Just making light of a subject I have no interest discussing. Sorry if it took away from the actual discussion.
