14 strikeouts in his major league debut. This dude is a stud, it's a shame he'll waste a chunk of his career with the Nationals.

Ya, very weird. This kid they got this year might pan out to be a good slugger, this Strasburg kid looks like he'll go down as a top five pitcher all time based on what he's shown us so far.

Slow down. He had a great outing, but calm down.

Top 5 all time?

I doubt he goes down with names like Gibson, Johnson, Clemens, Johnson, Seaver, Maddux, Grove, Nirkeo, Ryan, and Pedro.

Just looks at guys like Wood and Prior. They were suppose to be gods too. It doesn't always work out.

Ya I said he might go down that way based on what he's shown us. His minor league strikeout to hit ratio through 200 batters is the best all time during the live ball era. 200 batters, 60 k, 30 hits. Smokes anything any of those legends did. This kid is r e a l.

Strikeouts are great, but not the best factor in pitching greatness.

30 hits with 200 batters isn't impressive?

Unless he gets injured like Wood and Prior did, this guy will win multiple Cy Youngs.

yea,his fastball is electric and his breaking stuff is absolutely filthy. He has the ability to shut down a team on any given night. He will only get better and more dominant as he gains experience.

Kid is legit, should have tried to buy him early off Bigs

Saying he'll go done as a top 5er all-time is crazy though

nope, you said he was going to be the greatest pitcher of all time, as well as blow up 2 birds with one fastball instead of just 1, throw 2 perfect games in outing due to lack of run support.. I read it!!

I bet he hits a grand slam and strikes out the side in the same half of the same inning. Also he will be the first MLB pitcher in history to throw for 20 TDs and 4000 yards in a single MLB season. And he will win KO of the night 3 times.

There are so many pitchers that were way better than the ones you posted lol...only a couple of those guys would crack the top 10 all time IMO.

I'm not even that big of a baseball fan and I can tell ya Bob Feller, Sandy Koufax, Catfish Hunter, Don Drysdale and several others would be ranked well ahead of some of those pitchers.

Strasburg has about 3-5 perfect games and around 300 more wins to earn before he could even be considered as one of the top 5 greatest ever lol

He was throwing to the Pirates...so the fuck what??? It's still major league hitting...even if barely. Why doesn't every pitcher rack up 14 Ks against them? This kid is a stud. My decision to keep him on my fantasy roster all season was a good one.

I don't care who he was pitching against. That was a helluva performance for a major league debut, probably best all time.

Hopefully we don't have another Kerry Wood on our hands. I thought that guy was the next Nolan Ryan.

Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were ruined by Dusty Baker. He's the worst manager of all time.

And all Wood really had was a fastball, Prior was a true 4 pitch guy. Prior was more of a phenom than Wood was.

Wood's fastball was unreal. IMO he was still a more dominating pitcher early on. He was truely a monster. Also helps that he was hitting HRs back then, that made me a fan

I saw Wood pitch many times, he's a fastball pitcher primarily. The only reason his other pitches worked is because he threw his fastball so hard and could locate. He's a prime example of a power pitcher.

Yeah but he was an amazing power pitcher early on. Personally I was much more impressed by Woods domination early on.
