| We wrote to a ton of fighters. Brain Bowles, Liddell, Forrest, Machida and Ed Soras stable and a bunch of others.
Only Royce responded back to my seven year old. Sent us an autographed picture signed himself.
I know he took some roids and whatever else, but things like this truly are how character can be judged. Some American kid wanted a pic and he sent it right out. What an awesome fighter.

| Probably because Gracie has some time on his hands and doesn't get as much fan mail while the rest get tons of letters and what not and are training full time. | |

Probably not too many but Liddell, Forrest, and the rest of the top guys in the UFC probably get a bunch.

| The fighter I've met that was the most personable and nice guy ever was Pat Barry. I ran into him at the Arnold's this year, and he talked to me and my girlfriend for 20 minutes. He was such a cool dude, and it was just awesome for him to take the time to talk to a fan who happened to see him walking around. | |

| thats prettycool wolf, not surprised, every time i met a Gracie (met Rorian the most) they were extremely nice and pleasant people, just seemed like a nice family.
other the the Lions Den guys and Dan Severn I would say they were the nicest guys I met from that time period of MMA, Don Frye is up there too though, Guy Mezger was one of the nciest dudes youll ever meet , same with Tra Telligman, and Ken Shamrock was real nice about calling when he was in town so I could bring some friends down to the gym to meet him
recently I met Marcus Hicks (from WEC) and he was one nice guy as well
just wait wolf, you may get some more mail back, but definitly cool that he wrote back

| That Pat Berry interview on sherdog is really honest. Pat Berry is just a cool ass dude. He may be a little too nice, or even a bit soft though. He openly admits he has zero killer instinct and recounted times in fights where he'd rock someone, check on them, only to eat uppercuts. | |

| I've heard Forrest overall is pretty dismissive and douche-ish to fans.
I guess if I was one of those guys I'd try to fulfill every mailed autograph request. Getting something in the mail from someone you really admire can mean a lot and I'm sure that Gracie pic does mean a lot, Wolf.
But I can also understand why some get testy in public when every obese, smelly, bad-breath having, sweatstained tshirt wearing, dandruff-flaking scumbag comes running up at inappropriate times to wrap their arms around you for some shitty cellphone camera pic that won't even come out good enough to make into a true memorabilia piece. Some people have no common sense and will interrupt a fighter's dinner, family time, etc. I felt bad for the fighters trying to get to their seats at the Fedor-Rogers fight. There were grown men (CombatSports was there doing that haha) damn near dryhumping these guys for pictures. It just all seemed so fucking gay to me. You want to find an appropriate way to get an autographed pic, cool, go for it. But to practically throw yourself at a fighter in public like you're ready to give up your anal cherry is pretty pathetic.

I used to see pros at the Golden Gloves all the time but didn't go bother them unless they were guys that I had known from the past. Usually that meant they kicked the shit out of my ass in the gym.

Yeah, even the Hardonck fight, he stopped before the ref stopped him.

| I went to an autograph signing before 103. Big Nog looked pissed off to be there, Roshholt was cool, Swick was quiet, and Fitch was pretty talkative. I asked him about Almieda before that fight got cancelled. | |

| Im still mad at my dad for not taking up Guy Mezger on his offer to go to Japan for his King of Pancrase match that guy, Guy was just a good person, as you all know Ima big Oregon fan, he would bring back Oregon memorobilia from japan and stuff for us if he saw it, invited us to pretty much all his matches, this thread got me thinking, Id have to say Guy was the nicest in a long list of nice fighters that i met | |
