Rocky Juares vs Jorge Linares possible for July 31st ?

The possibility exists that former WBA/WBC world champion Jorge “Niño de Oro” Linares could be fighting Ricardo “Rocky” Juárez on July 31 in Las Vegas. Linares and Juarez both fight under the banner of Golden Boy Promotions and have been offered the fight, which would be a ten-rounder at 132lbs (between the super featherweight and lightweight divisions). The winner could get a title shot next. The fight would be the co-feature underneath Juan Manuel Márquez vs Juan Díaz for the WBA/WBO lightweight world titles.

Damn Rocky lost twice (1 actually, the other was a gift draw) to Chris John and he could possibly be getting another title shot? I like Rocky, but please no more!

Well Linares has looked bad in his last two fights. He lost one by first RD KO and won a 10 RD MD from some bum who had lost 4 of his last 5 fights. The guy seems he lost it and is on the decline, just a few years ago people were claiming he would of became a star. His chin and metallity is all there since he got knocked out in sparring and then against that mexican dude. This is a very winnable fight for Juarez, but like Gomez said, Im tired of watching him. The man is boring and is scared of throwing punches. If he fought every round like it was the 12th, he may of been undefeated. If its the opening bout of the card, its okay to show.

i think that this fight is more for linares than juarez. linares needs to beat solid competition to get his confidence back up. i would say that this is do or die for juarez, but he is already dead. he will never be anything.

met Rocky a couple times, really nice fellow, hope he can get over the hump one of these days

ive never liked rocky. mainly because he got so much hype and every decision leaned way towards him even though he didnt deserve them. he seems like a nice guy but he got too much publicity and respect as a fighter.

Linares was one of many GBP busts. Juarez has no business getting any more title shots or HBO time.

i know but it should only go so far. its one thing if a fighter has a lot of potential and its a close fight but its another thing when the fighter doesnt have much potential and gets gifts that arent even close fights.

As much as I like Rocky, he's far too small for Super Featherweight or a 132lb catchweight. Linares should win this easy, don't be surprised if he stops Juarez.
