| http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Showtime-Were-In-for-the-Long-Haul-24818Long but interesting story. Can be debated upon at many many junctures. Interesting points imo are: 1)Breaks have been put on in terms of CBS events, both because of the brawl and ratings. (Overeem Rogers was their lowest rated show on showtime) Probably more wait and see then anything. 2)In 3 year showtime has gone from 13 mil, to 18 mil subscribers. that is a HUGE jump, though certainly only a relatively small % of that can be attributed to MMA, but imo, if your a big MMA fan, you need showtime. 3)MMA brings in the 18-34 male demographic which showtime was lacking. 4)Certain main events proposed by sf have been squashed by showimte. 5)takes shot's at White, (with whom it appears he had talks with a couple years back,) saying he is irrelevant, adolescent etc. And while some of his points are solid, a feud, at this point, between SF and the UFC only helps showtime. 6)Prelims are still not in the cards in the near future, only possibility is online streaming, which I'm cool with, if the site doesn't crash. but hurry the fuck up. | |

| As a casual fan of MMA, I watch more WEC and Strikeforce than UFC (bc of Showtime and Vs)
If Showtime can produce for Strikefroce like they have for boxing, they'll be in good shape
At least on the boxing side of things, Showtime has realized that quality match ups are what matter, not building stars
Which has really helped them deliver great fights on ShoBox and Showtime Championship fights along with the Super Six Tournament (which they have that Challenger Series and reg events for Strikeforce)
I'll keep watching, Showtime seems to thinking ahead for combat sports, good for the network and fans

| The 3 year increase has more to do with shows like Weeds and Dexter among others
Saying Dana is irrelevant is laughable

| Apparently this is the "dick" Dana hates at Showtime. He's in for the long haul because he hates Dana. I like this feud. | |

Saying Dana is irrelevant is laughable well if your going to get into a war of words with Dana, you'd better be prepared for some laughable salvo's, at least he is showing he is game.

| Dana will win in the end. He has much more power over his product than this guy and he has the backing of the Fertitta brothers. That sounds like he is in the mob, but regardless, they have quite a bit of power and deliver a much better product. | |

| The way Dana does business is laughable.
Take an MBA class, the classical way of teaching business practices couldn't be more different than Dana's antics.
Why isn't the UFC on national TV yet? Dana says the right deal hasn't come along yet. Really? Why does CBS work with Elite XC and SF dispite the UFC having far greater talent? Because of Dana.
The UFC's success has more to do with Forrest and Bonner than it does with Dana White.

| Dana is a benefit and a bane for the UFC. I used to hate him a lot more than I do now, but sometimes I wonder if he hasn't run his course. | |
