| I was needing some advise. I just started using the heavy and speed to lose some pounds. I have been cutting my hands a little when using the heavy bag. Also I have no clue how to hit the fucking speed bag. I have seen people do it and I have tried but fuck it is hard. Any help would be great. |

| ok with the Heavy bag, make sure you are wrapping your hands right to avoid the cuts, also make sure you put your shoulder into your punches and stad properly, if you hit the bag iright you work out your muscles alot
i have been doing the speed bag since i was 8 so i dont know how i could help, i would say start with your left hand and try to do lets say 20 consecutive with your left then try intigrating the right, its really just muscle memory, but Im also lucky cause ive never had a problem doing the speed bag

| you want the speed bag to hit the back end and the front end and catch the bag when it is coming down from the top end
that make sense?
so hit the bag boom it hits the back end of the stand then comes down and hits the front end of the board, then you hit the bag again
alot of people make the mistake of just letting the bag hit the back end and trying to hit it again before it hits the front end

| yes you need to wrap your hands and then were the gloves, ya its a common mistake, you can do it when you get better at the speed bag because its a bit faster but the common way is to let it hit both ends, it should be alot easier for ya | |

| 14 oz bag gloves and wraps. DO NOT use MMA goves for training. I use 180" wraps and 14 oz title bag glove. When I spar it's 16 ozer's with wraps. We wear full face headgear and groin protection. We do not do instructional sparring so proper wraps are a must. Please wear real gloves considering you are gym teacher. | |

Ok The only places around here that sell this stuff is Academy. Is there anything there that is good enough? They carry everlast but its the cheap stuff. |

http://www.everlast.com/prodinfo.asp?number=EVGELHW 3 I don't like them at all. buy regular 180" handwraps and then purchase inserts that you can wrap under the wraps if you feel that there is not enough protection. http://store.titleboxing.com/kg.htmlLearn how to wrap your hands, everyone is different so there will be a trial and error process. Good Luck.

| wrap your hands better then mate, go and invest some cash in decent hand wraps and then just take your time wrapping them. if you're still hurting your hands on the heavy bag go get some 16 or 20oz gloves to wear, you're probably using some pi.ss poor training mitts with little protection. with the speed ball, i'd say try hitting it lighter or at a different point of the ball, you want to be hitting the speed ball as your hand is coming down. time and patience and it will all come into place | |

Thanks. I bought some 14oz bag gloves that are usually 60 but they were clearing them out for 25. I also got some wraps. That fucking speed bag is hard. I keep trying and I am getting a little better at it. |

| Use to hit the heavy bag way back before I was out on my own. Heavy bags just don't work for apartments. It's a great workout though... kinda miss it. | |
