| The details connected with the organization of the fight between Tomasz Adamek (41-1, 27 KO) and Michael Grant (46-3, 34 KO), have been accepted by both heavyweights. The contract is already being prepared and waits for signatures. The battle will take place on August 21 in Newark, as Adamek said to the journalists of BoxingScene.com/Bokser.org. The heavyweight bout will be televised on pay-per-view. Why did Team Adamek choose Grant? There are two reasons. The first reason is connected with financial and organizational issues. It turned out that none of top American televsiion networks wanted to broadcast a possible fight against Roy Jones Jr. The second candidate, Evander Holyfield, demanded $400,000 dollars for the fight. Obviously, the sum of money would not be adequate based on the 47-year-old boxer's recent track record. The second reason connected to the selection of Grant, was the fact that Adamek has already been thinking about taking a fight against one of Klitschko brothers. A clash with the tall and strong Grant will be an excellent test for the Pole before facing Vitali or Wladimir. Presently, Adamek is resting after the hard bout against Chris Arreola but it's probable that the 33-year-old Pole will have to come back to a serious training camp very soon. The best option for Adamek's fight location appears to be the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where thousands of loud Polish supporters come out for his fights. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=28073 |

| Adamek is not young and has been in some tough fights. It's time for Tomasz to get a big payday against Wlad or Vitali. | |

It will end in tears if he faces either brother. His promoters need to lure David to NJ. |

| Haye will never come to The Rock. If he ever fights Highlander, it will be in the UK.
I'll be there, feasting on the great food/beer selection that only The Rock can offer.

| It's going to take one hell of a check to get Haye to come here. Most I've seen Adamek draw at The Rock was 10,000. Haye had nearly double that for Ruiz. The only reason Haye has to come here, is if he really wants to be a star in the U.S, but considering that virtually all the heavyweight talent is in Europe, how much time should he really spend over here?
With any luck, he does come here, and The Rock will have one lovely mix of an audience.

| Seems to me Adamek should be concentrating on getting a title fight at HW, with Wlad, Vitali or Haye, what does fighting Michael Grant do for him as far as putting him in line for a title shot? | |

| If Haye ducks the Klits(which most likely will happen), the best Match up is Adamek-Haye. This would also be a huge Euro fight. At Poland or the UK, these guys could fill up soccer arenas. I agree with another poster that stated, Adameks has been through wars and the man should look to get paid because this is way better instead of being involved in meaningless HW fights. Im sure fighting Arreola got him over a Mil. They should have a rematch IMO, I just think their match up makes a good battle. | |

Gives him a game opponent that's tall. It also gives him work. I read that he wants to fight every three months for the next three years. He wants to cash in while he's hot. His logic is fight and make money instead of waiting for the big payday that might not come to fruition. You gotta love this guy.

| Why not just have Haye-Adamek and get rid of one of these pretenders for good. | |

I like that Adamek fights often and stays busy, I figure he should get a title shot fairly soon, he's a top 5 ranked HW after his win over Cris "the refrigerator" Arreola.

| If you want to fight a big long guy (who you should be able to beat) as preparation for Wlad or Vitali, then Grant will do. And fighting at home (adopted fighting hometown of Newark) in front of a big crowd for a good payday doesn't hurt. | |

| is there really anyone Adamek should fight to get a title shot?
lets look at the simple logistics(Ring's other top 10 fighters): Wlad-already going to fight Povetkin (or Haye if Haye steps up) Vitali-fighting Sosnowski so no fight for a bit afterwards Haye-he is running from Wlad, isn't coming to Newark to fight, and seems to want a long time between fights. After beating Ruiz, he probably schedules a fight for November. Povetkin-fighting Wlad in all likelihood. Certainly isn't going to risk his mandatory status to fight Adamek if Haye steps up and fights Wlad (and thus Povetkin would step aside again). Chagaev-just fought. He isn't going to fight again for a bit. Valuev-how does fighting a 300 pound behemoth prepare you for the Klits or Haye??? Chambers-that fight has been discussed but Chambers said in an interview he is resting after the KO, will need a comeback fight. Plus, how does fighting another cruiser (we all know Eddie is a real cruiser) help prepare for Klits or Haye??? Dimitrenko-Chambers already beat him. he is re-grouping a bit. Arreola-we already saw that fight.
Other guys outside Ring's top 10: Tony Thompson-a gangly left handed fighter. I would avoid him. Sam Peter-why fight him? What do you gain if you survive the repeated rabbit punch attempts. First time you semi-turn your back to him he is going to club you on the neck or back of the head.
Really, there is no one to prepare you for the Klits. Grant is at least the same height range and right handed. And to prepare for Haye-there isn't any other heavyweights with his speed. And being a former cruiser and LH, Adamek has seen speed that other heavyweights haven't seen.
Fighting Grant is a good stay busy fight and if it helps in any way prepare for the Klits, then great!

| Tomasz Adamek, “Goral“, from Poland has a current professional record of 41 wins (27 by way of knock out, KO) and 1 loss. He’s a former light heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion and he currently holds the IBF International and WBO NABO Heavyweight title belts. He just came off a Majority Decision win over Chris Arreola on Arreola vs Adamek, April 2010. While Michael Grant, “Big”, from United States of America has a current professional record of 46 wins (34 by way of knock out, KO) and 3 losses. He just cam off a 1st Round Technical Knock Out win over Kevin Burnett, May 2010. The Adamek vs Grant video will be a heavyweight division title match with Adamek’s IBF and WBO NABO belts at stake.
