What happened to Ricardo Torres ?

What happened to this guy? He was all set for his third fight against Kendall Holt, which quite a few people had picked him to win by KO, then he pulls out claiming illness (and unleashes the horror that is D-Hop on an unfortunate audience), and he's never heard from again? He apparently had one fight in Columbia, but that was over a year ago.

He got fat and last I heard was campaigning at 154

Damn! He's put Ricky to shame. I guess he'd be a good choice for someone to steamroll over on a FNF.

It's a real shame we won't get a third Holt vs Torres fight.

He lost a tune-up against Kaizer Mabuza on FoxSports. I think he's at the end of the line, his heart's not in it anymore, not since his legal problems.

He's on a two fight losing streak and has been in trouble with the law for dealing drugs I think.

He was the mule for the cash pick up, and his friggin trainer/manager was running the drugs! He got a pre-trial intervention, so if he stays clean for a couple of years, it gets dismissed as if it never happened.

He cooperated with the cops, my guess is that probably put a strain on a few of his relationships, it may be a partial reason for his in-ring problems.

Back in Colombia and done fighting. I actually spoke to Miguel Diaz this week. He was in Torres' corner and I asked him about Torres. He said he's retired.

Too bad he's retired. I always thought a Ricardo Torres-Randall Bailey fight would've been classic. How many knockdowns would have been in that fight? Damn shame.

Dan said he was nice and salty.

Retired at age 30. a guy who probably had a couple more fights in him.

At the same time, a number of fighters that need to retire won't walk away.
