I'm just curious why everyone keeps asking what the U.S. is going to do about this oil spill.

Is Britain going to punish BP?

Isn't their name British Petroleum?

The States have to clean up the mess regardless, but should the British government be a little more vocal in this situation?

As far as I know aren't they drilling in international waters? Shouldn't Great Britain have some kind of moral responsibility in this matter?

The British government is a mess trying to figure out who is doing what following the formation of a coalition government after the recent election. My guess is they are in no position to do anyhting but make self-serving speeches.

What do you think BP should be doing that they aren't?

Britain sold the company years ago, the government has nothing to do with it. It's all run by stockholders now.

They should have an employee on every shoreline cleaning up whatever comes ashore.

Is the British government collecting taxes from this company?

I don't know, possibly because BP have an oil rig off the shore of north east Scotland.

If it was still part of the government David Cameron would be in Washington right now kissing Master Obama's shoes and begging for forgiveness.

Pretty poor use of resources. They have boats all over the Gulf trying to stop this thing.

Stuff happens. We rely on oil and spills are part of the cost.

I am sure if David committed more troops to Afghanistan Obama would pat him on the back. On the other case I did hear Obama removed the Churchill bust from the White House, so maybe secretly he loathes them Laughing

Don't buy BP gas and that will get their attention. BP is more of a US company, than a UK company now anyways.
