| WBC/WBA super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (35-2-1, 27 KOs) stepped up to bantamweight to take the vacant IBO bantamweight belt against Eric Barcelona (51-18-4, 19 KOs) on Thursday night at the Leagues Club in Parramatta, NSW, Australia. Darchinyan dropped Barcelona three times en route to a 120-103, 118-105 and 116-108 win. Barcelona was also deducted two points from low blows. More to come from Ray Wheatley… http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/darchinyan-defeats-barcelona-46392I had no clue Vic was even scheduled to fight. |

| Apparently he wanted a fight in Australia. Why wouldn't Gary Shaw give the fight to ESPN for nothing is the question. Vic has some fans(I'm a big Vic fan). To have him fight and his fans not seeing it isn't a good thing.
And by the way, in my view Vic deserves to be in the top ten P4P. there is no shame in moving up and losing. Why didn't Shane drop out of the P4P rankings after his loss? Vic tries to move up and loses and he drops out of sight? That isn't right.

| Yeah I was surprised when I saw that on boxingscene earlier. I don't really think Darchinyan is all that good anyway. He has a lot of power and is good to watch but Agbeko laid the blueprint on how to beat him and it was a pretty simple blueprint. All he had to do was throw fast straight punches down the pipe and circle around Darchinyan to win. He did that every round and Vic had no answers. | |

| It's a shame that Bluto and Arum botched the Donaire re-match. I don't think it's wise for Vic to keep fighting at 118, unless he's getting a big pay day (Donaire, Montiel) | |

i dont think that it was necessarily agbeko that showed how to beat him. i think that vic just didnt have power at that weight. he didnt move up weight very well.
