Andre Johnson wants $, not going to camp

"Andre Johnson has five years remaining on a $60 million contract he signed with the Texans in 2007. The star receiver feels that he's already outplayed that contract, however, and was missing from the start of Houston's voluntary organized team activities on Monday.

Johnson, who led the NFL in receiving yards last season (1,569 yards), is scheduled to make $5.8 million this season, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Texans general manager Rick Smith told Houston media outlets on Monday that Johnson was missing because he was unhappy with his current contract."

I don't like the Texans

For being the #1 permodonna position in the game I rarely feel that crying WR's should be acknowledged, but in this case I think AJ is right on.

He is the best WR in the league. He makes Shuab look like a stud and he is only good. I would take this seriously if I were Houston, especially since he is known as being one of the most humble selfless guys on that team. This guy isn't some whiny brat. He is known as stand up through out the league. Talent wise he deserves to be the top paid WR in the league.

why is football the only major league sport that allows players to do this? if u sign a contract be smart so 2 years down the road this shit don't happen...

Top ten in every single important WR stat except for average per catch which guys who don't catch a lot of passes generally get. No one else could touch him at that position last year or in 2008 when he was also in the top ten in every relevant stat category except average per catch. Two years in a row of most yards and has other top rankings in things like 1st downs, catches, most 20yd+ catches, yards per game, and times targeted. Making him Happy should be the Texans #1 priority. He is clearly the best WR in the game.

I dont think he is clearly the best. Numbers yes but best reciever no! I doubt u see many Lions game but Calvin Johnson is the real deal. If he was on any other team with a good QB he would have a ton of numbers but the fact is we have no running game and no other recievers to take any pressure off of him so he doesnt put up the stats like AJ. He is triple teamed nearly every play. Hopefully Stafford gets alot better this year and calvin has that huge breakout year.

So he wants to renegotiate a contract he has already renegotiated once?

If I'm the Texans I let him rot at home.
