How does his fight with Silva factor into this?

I saw yes...regardless of my opinion, what he did for the ufc, Dana puts him in immediately following his last fight.

Down the road maybe, he needs to do a little more, Anderson win maybe, but i need him to win the belt again or beat another top, top LHW, add another category

Ya I agree ziggy, plus he's proved the doubters wrong and become a champion in the hardest division in the sport when all the best fighters were finally under one roof. The title, plus what his career has meant, gets him in.

If he was forced to retire now I'd vote him in.


And LA, how could you not vote him in if he was able to stop the record undefeated run of Silva? That would make him a complete lock.

yea he won the title in a controversial decision and never defended it. Acoording to "the saying" he was never a real champ in the sense that some dont consider matt serra to have been a real champ even though he won by tko.

The idea you're never a champ unless you defend it is dumb and in MMA is mainly some gay shit Matt Hughes says so everyone can see he's the best.

What does that have to do with anything. It's not a Matt Hughes saying. It is just a saying that predates Hughes's career.

Ya it's an old boxing saying but I have never heard a fighter outside of Matt Hughes and Little Evil, Matt Hughes former sidekick ever say it.

Well you need to listen up. I've heard Forrest, Rogan, and Goldie all say it. I'm sure tons ore have, but those are the only ones that have come to mind.

Everytime I have heard it it was "as matt hughes says" I think forrest and rogan kind of attributed it to him, which was dumb anyway.

But regardless, winning the title is winning the title.

I know dana will put him in cause of the tuf finale fight. I feel like throwing up everytime he says that was the best fight. But IMO he does not deserve it yet. They need to start making it a little more difficult to get in or the HOF will lose its prestige. Say no to TANK.

My vote right now goes for No, but there's no doubt he'll be in after his career is over.

Gotta remember he still has a good 5 yrs+ left, a lot of things can change in his career. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hold the strap again someday, especially considering Zuffa will always have him in contention if he keeps winning, unlike say, Okami.

Okami has been in line for title shots several times. Not Zuffa's fault he is constantly injured.

I think Forrest is a definite because of what his fight with Bonnar meant to the mainstream and he was a champ to boot.

Ya combat, and I think his win over Shogun did more for TUF's reputation and the UFC's reputation than any other single fight.
