| Probably, stylistically though, that match has intrigued me for some time. | |

| Will I get "-'d" for saying I still think Machida is faster? Rashad might be faster too - Jake Rossen, president of the PHFC (Pride Homer Fan Club) said so also.
Old (current?) Shogun has the far more lethal speed + power + raw aggression combo though. No matter how elusive you are, you can only avoid that crazy MFer for so long.

| You guys are REALLY remembering the Coleman fight wrong if you thought that was gonna be a close decision. Shogun won a 10-8 first round and won the second round easily. He was also on on his way to winning the 3rd round quite solidly. You guys must be forgetting the sub attempts and sweeps, and are only remembering the Coleman takedowns or something. But that fight was not even close to contreversial. The stoppage was the only thing halfway contreversial about it, and it wasn't all that bad of a stoppage. I wouldn't have stopped it there, but the end was coming regardless. | |

| I thought after the first fight, that Shogun's explosive strikes were Machida's biggest problem and not so much any game-plan. Shogun is just a better athlete -- the skill is a push and the strength probably rests with Machida. Speed kills. | |

Everything in that was wrong. Uhhhhhh..... no. Shogun was absolutely dominating that fight, and anybody who thinks Coleman was close to winning that fight (other than Phil Baroni, who may have been the worst cornerman ever during this fight) is insane.

Maybe I'm wrong about that, but seriously, Rua absolutely won the first two rounds easily and almost had him finished in both of them.

Shogun didn't even win both rounds, let alone "easily".

Any scoring that would give Coleman either scored round is a joke.

lol, 7 well known websites are a joke? It is crazy, I don't know how that could happen. 10-8 on both rounds is extremely laughable. Like Globz said, plenty of people would give Coleman atleast 1 round. So yes it is funny that all sites scored it that way...very funny

| I actually think Rua's biggest strength is his strength, both in his punches and his chin. Machida could hit him, but could not hurt him, and the KO punch was partially blocked yet still rocked Machida. Rua has good speed in his hands, he'll certainly outspeed other strong guys like rampage, and its the combo of speed in strength that set him apart.
Rua is what? 27? scary stuff.

| Who cares what happened in the Shogun/Coleman fight. Coleman only won the first time around because of a freak injury to Shogun so that can be thrown out too. Dana knew that Shogun needed a couple tune up fights after the loss to Forest so he gave him Coleman and Liddell. They were fucking tune up fights to get Rua back in shape and ready for a title shot. He was coming off devestating injuries, it's not like he wouldn't absolutely dominate Coleman if he was 100%. | |
