lol, he's 36 years old and we're talking about SHOT KNEES like he's John Sally in his later years. There is 36 year old doing cartwheels in training everyday in this sport. It goes to show this guy was never nuttin. If my knees are shot when i'm 36 please shoot me.

oh, but Kimbo's the one with the bad knees...not the 50 year old guy who still does thousands of push ups and sit ups a day. He would tackle Kimbo and shoulder pound his beard until John McCarthy has seen enough.

If my knees are shot when i'm 36 please shoot me. John Salley first retired at 31 36 is ancient for most pro athletes

| 36 is especially ancient for Fighters in MMA. There are but a few very well conditioned athletes that provide the exception to the rule, but lets be real, We'll never see the Gordie Howe of MMA. | |

| pro athlete?...Kimbo?...who started MMA when he was 33?
John Salley was also 6 foot 11 who ran up and down the court for years. The tall guys knees get shot far quicker. Kimbo is 6 foot 1 and has only been a "pro" for 3 years and spent a lot of his days being a bodyguard and beating up drunk guys.
I'm mainly joking though. I don't think Kimbo has bad knees. I think he just sucks and if his knees are bad then his chin, hands, feet, endurance, etc. are just as shot.

i disagree. Dan Henderson was holding two titles at 37 years old Randy Couture is still going strong at 46, started in the sport at 34. Anderson Silva is arguably the best fighter around and not at all declining at 35. It was when he was younger when he was getting beat. Shane Carwin is 34 who was a "prospect" shortly ago and just beat the living hell out of seasoned veternan, although younger Frank Mir Fedor, BJ Penn, Brock Lesnar, Lyoto Machida, Quinton Jackson, etc. Not children anymore but all fighting at their peak and i don't see them being ancient when they hit 36. I disagree with especially in MMA. I see MMA as a sport where a fighter can decline at 26 and peak at 36, or vice versa depending on what kind of fighter he is. It's especially in basketball if you are a big man, or NFL if you are a running back. In MMA, you don't know when somebody might fall off or enter their prime.

| I wasn't using that as an excuse for Kimbo... he just sucks as a fighter. It just wasn't a good example because Salley was done long before 36 and a lot of basketball players knees are gone by that time.
MMA has not yet reached the point where you need to be an elite athlete and not past your physical prime to be one of the best. Eventually it will, and then you won't see 35+ year old champs or people just getting into the sport in their 30s.
