I'm using common sense

Kobe belong's on 1st ean D, who else would u put there? and seeing Udoka, Jefferies? what? and AK? he played 50 some games this year, and hasn't made an all D team in years I think.

Can't believe I'm about to do this... I agree with LA. Kobe is still a better offensive player than Melo, is ten times the defensive player and the better clutch player. What other areas are we measuring players? Working through injuries and with the NBA equivalent 60 year old body, I'd take Kobe over Melo with the ball any day of the week without question...

Then again maybe defense and clutch mean nothing, they do have Durant in there...

Durant is legit, he didn't plat well against the Lakers, but he deserves it.

Kobe is without a doubt first teamer. I don't get to see a shitload of teams play on a regular basis so I can't really make an argument on whether or not there is a better SG defender out there than him

I'm not saying Durant doesn't deserve it... I'm saying if he's on the list maybe playing D and being clutch aren't a very important part of the criteria the voters are looking for...

No, I and others agree Kobe D > Melo D. But the other debate with LA is claims Kobe is a 1st team defender and currently the best defender at SG in the league.

What are the other options?.... Roy, Wade, Allen?... Thinking of the options right now I would say it's a very close race between he and Wade. I certainly couldn't say one is definitely better than the other though...

No one is saying Kobe isn't good. In my very first post I said I was splitting hairs. I think Melo had the better year.

Yeah it came down to Kobe or Wade 1st team D, LTFG is right, Kobe is a bit better on the ball, Wade plays the passing lanes.

The more i think about it, I'm giving too much love to the local guy Roy though. I love Brandon and think he has a world of talent, but I think that you have to put Iguodala in there ahead of him and when Ginobili is healthy, him too. I'd go Kobe and Wade as 1a and 1b, Iguodala at 3, Ginobili at 4 and Roy at 5... Still might be being a homer a bit, but those are 5 that stand out as being able to really disrupt a game at the position from the defensive side...

When Ginobli is on he's the most exciting player to watch outside of Lebron imo.

Kobe is the most exciting, not even being a homer, no one does the crazy shit he does, those last second shots he makes are ridiculous

Yep. I'm a homer but watching Kobe operate on the offensive end is the best site in basketball. More pure basketball talent than anyone in the league

Seeing those guys and you don't know them because they aren't big name scorers like Kobe, but I've seen them plenty and the D up. Your holier than thou attitude isn't going to work. Kobe just doesn't put out the effort like these players do defensively day in and day out.

I watch almost all NBA games, they aren't on Kobe's level and AK was but hasn't been in a while. Udoka ain't Bowen.

Deron Williams was the only PG type PG for the discussion I think. Hard to bump his name over the glamor names at guard still. Paul too, impact wise though, they can't compete with Wade or Kobe.

Bowen hasn't been Bowen in years.

Same goes with Artest and Shane too. They were among the best a few years back.

Bowen was the shit a couple years ago, Artest still has some left he gave Durant trouble, Shane has fallen off though.

Kobes D is better than Melos but to flat out say he is a better offense player at this stage may be a mistake. Melo can score the rock with the best of them especially with Kobe getting up there in age.

Kobe could put up 35 a night if he had to, add in he's one of the most clutch players to ever play the game

Yes he is very clutch and ur right any givin night he can score 35 but not like he used to every night. Melo is hitting his prime and he is a pure scorer. I think Melo on offense alone is just as good but maybe better than Kobe at this stage.
