Batman 3 release date set for summer 2012

Warner Bros. has set the next Batpic for July 20, 2012.

Studio disclosed Friday the opening date for "Batman 3," the third Batman pic directed by Christopher Nolan -- and a project that's yet to be officially greenlit.

The studio and Imax had jointly disclosed earlier this week that "Batman 3" was one of 20 Warner projects that would be released in an Imax format before the end of 2013, but that announcement didn't give a specific release date.

David Goyer is working with Christopher Nolan's brother Jonathan Nolan on a script for the next Batman installment, based on an idea from Christopher Nolan.

Christopher Nolan and Goyer helped breathe new life into the Batman franchise in 2005 co-writing "Batman Begins," which went on to earn $352 million worldwide. The 2008 follow-up "The Dark Knight" was co-written by the Nolans with Goyer helping develop the story, earned $1 billion.

so are they doing the riddler or is it going to be someone else

Yeah I heard the riddler was next. If I remember right I think Johnny Depp was a canidate for the role.

Don't get your hopes up too much for The Riddler. Christopher Nolan is the type of director who's willing to think outside of the box.

I think Im the only man in America to hate Batman LOL.

What happened to Two face or whatever his name was? That must be the riddler haha sorry if im slow.

I thought at the end of the Dark Knight, that he was given a short skit kinda hyping him up for the next movie?

Its up for debate whether Two-Face died at the end of Dark Knight or not

Didn't they show like a funeral/memorial for Harvey Dent at the end of the movie? Been awhile since I saw it. I tried looking it up and everywhere I am reading said he fell to his death in the movie.

I'd have to rewatch but I thought they just did like a memorial for him and you never actually saw a casket or anything like that? My guess would be he's dead but I wouldn't rule out something being written in for his return

when christopher nolan goes .. batman dies... I believe he said that he will only do three and thats it.. that he doesnt want to get caught up doing one thing only.. but you never know .. money talks.

Batman is the shit. My 4 year old son watches the same batman shows over and over. I get tired of them and buy another dvd eventually. He loves Batman though. He likes superman too but not nearly as much as batman.

I can see Batman 3 now. Bruce Wayne is fronting the reward money for the capture of Batman as he continues his quest to help clean up Gotham. I m hoping they don't do anything stupid and I am not worried since Nolan is one of the smartest guys in the industry. If they "kill" Batman, I bet you Bruce Wayne will survive...

Nolan doing something stupid is impossible (going by his films thus far) .. however, he might have a crazy ending... that seems to be very consistent.

Bale has been good as Batman, gotta say though, this is not my favorite movie he has been in.... American Psycho takes it
