Strikeforce: Britt vs Cavalacante makes main card, Beerbohm vs Ribeiro, Kid vs Lopez on prelims

Strikeforce today announced a trio of high-profile bouts for its upcoming "Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery" event, as Antwain Britt vs. Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante completes the evening's five-fight main card, while Lyle Beerbohm vs. Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro and Federico Lopez vs. Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto were announced for the evening's preliminary action.

Featuring a heavyweight title fight between current champion Alistair Overeem and challenger Brett Rogers, "Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery" takes place May 15 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

The main card airs on Showtime.

So in other words...Strikeforce fails.

Britt and Cavalcante is a good fight, and considering how slim they are on known LHW it's good to showcase these two up and comer but i was REALLY REALLY looking forward to Fancy Pants vs. Shaolin. Hopefully Beerbohm and Vitor is a swing bout.

Kid does not matter.

all about showcasing a possible king Mo opponent.

shows the need to broadcast these worthwhile fights that don't make the televised portion. Maybe try the internet feed again. And hopefully be prepared for people wanting to watch.

I know SF will take a lot of internet kiddie flack for not airing the fights between less immediately promising fighters in less interesting weight classes, but a King Mo opponent must be created.

There was a time when Kid would've been a big deal...not anymore.

Disagree. Kid got robbed against Kanehara at dynamite!, who is a solid topten on almost every ranking around ninjasplace and everywhere else. Kid is still a world class fighter.

which is bogus, the guy was rolling b4 the injury, Faber vs Kid was viewed as a dream fight. He just turned 33 last month. I see the last 2 fights as steps in his recory, not signs of his demise.

Agree. Faber vs. Kid used to be a dream fight for me for sure...now maybe Aldo vs. Kid if he can make a full recovery.

To be fair, though, he hasn't looked good since coming back from injury. Just hasn't looked like himself at all, even the swagger is gone which is something I thought would always be with him.

dam it i wanted to see Ribiero vs fancy and Kid

hopefully they make the filler bouts
