| Recently saw a video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEdfWs09le8&feature=player_embedded#!, where Mo Lawal discusses the only guys that can sprawl his takedowns. THe first is a former Olympian and the other is Rashad Evans. I'm not saying you think Rashad sucks, but I've noticed you before insisting that he's an overrated wrestler. If he's one of two guys, one being Cormier, that Mo feels the need to mention, then I think Rashad must be a GREAT wrestler, or at least not overrated at all. | |

| A great sprawl doesn't make a great wrestler. | |

| I saw that, but I have also seen stuff where Rashad can't get GSP down while GSP can get him down, and he has always been on the small side for the division and isn't able to hold guys down as easily as Mo can.
I bet Mousasi could get to his feet against Rashad. I bet Thiago Silva probably couldn't against Mo.
Still, that did up my respect for Rashad slightly. Even if teammates lie about eachother all the time.

| I'm not sure about that -- one of the major themes in wrestling is resisting takedowns. The only non-wrestlers with great TD defense that I've seen are Machida and Penn, but they are the exception and far, far from the rule. | |

| Mo's words shocked me a little too. And I agree, I don't think Rashad could control a guy the way Mo can. I'm not sure if anyone can in this division.
Also, I always had a hard time buying that GSP owns Marquardt and Rashad on the mat. Might be true, but I thought that was more for hyping fights. Also, Mo was pretty emotional in that video so I don't think he was BSing. Everything he said seemed pretty genuine.

I don't have a hard time believing he can dominate Rashad and Marquardt at all.

Maybe a loss to Rampage will send him there, but I actually think Rashad gets the win. I think Rampage is over MMA.

| He also trains with him. Is he going to say...
Yeah I can take him down whenever I want
What Mo says means nothing.

| I file that in the "he's a former world champ and current teammate, I'll give him the props wether he deserves it or not" folder. I take little from that comment.
and wolf if Evans drops down a weight class that doesn't earn him a Mo like wrestling pedigree.

| In a moment like that where he was crying, complimenting how good Gegard was, and saying how he didn't do as well as he had hoped, I think it was probably an honest outpouring.
In addition, he wasn't asked who could stuff his takedowns, he just volunteered that the only guys he struggles to take down are an Olympian and Evans.

I thought that too. I just think Rashad is underrated as a wrestler and I don't think Mo was just blowing smoke.

| Mo is already a better puncher than Chael. Mousasi would have sub'd Chael in Dream to win that tournament. - Quote :

Hey this is very true. I didn't mean to imply that it would, but Rashad at 185 would have enough wrestling, size and strength to be a very reasonable fascimilie of Mo at LHW.

| I didnt watch this interview but the interview he had after he beat Mousasi, Ariel asked him if he thought Mousasi had weak takedown defense and Mo said their is no such thing as takedown defense there is only guys good at taking people down. lol, Mo is the shit...though i would say BJ Penn proves there is such thing. | |
