| Listening to Herd this morning and he claims he has a very reliable source that says it is a done deal that Utah will be in the Pac-10. He is also guessing that Colorado will also go to Pac-10 and Big 10 will pickup UConn. But says it is a done deal for Utah. What do you guys think about Utah in the Pac 10? | |

| Pac shouldn't look any further east then Boise for their expansion. Hawaii, Fresno or Boise. If Big Ten expands they should take a midwest Big 12 team. Big 12 should then take a Utah or BYU. From a geographic perspective anyways. Collegiate sports economics are dumb though. | |

| Good for Utah. That doesn't surprise me I guess. Pac teams would see them as a much smaller recruiting threat then a west coast team. | |

| I'm a little surprised if they are looking past Boise St. I would think they would add two if they add any, and Boise St. and Utah make sense. | |

| I was hoping that the Pac 10 would pick up both Utah and Boise State...then they could split it up into a Pac 12 north and south.
I've heard rumblings of Texas, Mizzou, Pitt, UConn, Rutgers, and Notre Dame to be joining the Big Ten. Notre Dame makes the most sense to join our conference...we only need one team and then we could split it into two divisions as well...maybe an east/west division.
If texas or mizzou decided to join the Big Ten, that would open a spot for TCU to join the Big 12.
If what I did played out, everyone would be happy and everything would work out....its a perfect scenario....the only team left out would be BYU.

Herd pretty much shot down any chance of ND or Texas getting into the Big 10. He said their is a very high chance they just raid the Big East with UConn, Pitt, Rugters. One of those teams. Just relaying what Herd said this morning.

| Hopefully Rutgers. I'll be pissed if the Big 10 takes a great hoops school from the Big East | |

I forget which espn radio show it was I heard that on though.

| Yeah SVP is talking about ND, Mizzou and Texas. I'm just saying Herd and his "inside sources" said ND and Texas aren't going to happen. Like I said I was just telling you what he said, not stating any kind of fact or even my opinion. He claims the state wouldn't allow Texas to leave Big 12 and their OU and A&M rivalries and I can't recall his reason for why ND won't happen. | |

If I had to take one of the Big East teams, I would pick Pitt. UConn isnt very good at anything other than women's basketball and men's basketball (sometimes). Rutgers would get owned in pretty much every sport. Pitt makes the most sense.

| Well it has to do with the market area as well. Herd said they are trying to get the New York media which is why Rutgers gets some consideration. But UConn I guess gets pleny of New York coverage so that is why Herd sees them as the leading canidate. | |

God I hope not lol. Rutgers would get shit on in the Big Ten. UConn would be a mid-level team in the Big Ten. Pitt could at least contend in the Big Ten.

| UCONN would be a mid-level team in what? They would immediately be dominant in basketball and their football program has been coming along at a rapid pace over the last 3-4 years. | |

Well, based on last year...they'd be a mid-level team in both. Sorry I dont think a 17-13 record exemplifies a team that would come in and dominate our conference...and they've been coming up in the football scene but they would still be lucky to get 4th or 5th in the Big Ten, which is still a tougher football conference than the Big East.

| UCONN has been a basketball powerhouse for atleast 15 years now. One underachieving season doesn't change that. North Carolina finished 16-15 last year as well but I think you would agree that it wouldn't take long at all for them to start dominating the conference | |

Idk. I think you're just a Big Ten hater like the majority of this board and vastly underestimate the level of play in the Big Ten. If the Big Ten was so bad we wouldnt have a team in the final four or national title game almost every year.

| I do hate the Big 10. Its slow, boring basketball and difficult to watch. I also know UCONN would be a favorite to win the B10 championship every year | |

| I have heard things about Louisville being invited. That was about 6 months ago and I am sure we didn't accept. I would love to beat up on IU every year. I hate the Hoosiers more than UK. IMO Notre Dame should be the one to go. | |

| Even ESPN analysts have said as much. Watching a February B10 game between Wisconsin-Northwestern is unbearable | |

I dont really care either which way. Like i've said before...basketball isnt even in my top 5 favorite sports. I just support my conference and my Buckeyes in everything that I can.

| To be in the Pac 10 you have to be a certain type of school (cant forget what kind, like liberal arts or some shit)
anyway you cant join iunless you are the certain kind of college, I know Boise IS NOT ONE, neither is BYU, and I dont think UTAH is either
when I remember what kind of college you gotta be I will let yall know
Stanford always sticks to their guns on this and are the reason why Texas isnt in the Pac 10
Most people are jsut talking out of their ass when talking about new teams going to Pac 10
