| http://www.mmamania.com/2010/4/19/1430764/dana-white-shame-on-cbs-for"Of course, everyone thinks I'm anti-competition, but I'm not. Everyone knows that they didn't belong on CBS. Even if you're the biggest UFC hater out there, you know that. Shame on CBS for this. They knew they should have been with us, but they went out and let those Showtime idiots talk them into going with Elite XC. Now, they're stuck with a bush league, C-level promotion that will probably be out of business next month. And what you saw on Saturday is the kind of thing that happens when you put a product like that on national television... When have you seen anything remotely close to that happen at a UFC event? What kind of ridiculous commentary was that [speaking of Gus Johnson's ‘these things happen in MMA' comment]? That was an idiotic thing to say. And then he was yelling at them to stop, telling them they are on national television. That was just another example of how bush league they are." | |

| Looks like a post on sherdog.
Atleast Strikeforce knows they could count Dana as one of the guys who watched on saturday night...i guess he's not as anti competition as we all think. lol.
seriously though, typical. It's hard to care when you know exactly what he's going to say before he says it.

| I don't disagree with most of what he said. C-level is a bit harsh though, but we all know that anything non-UFC is B-level right now. And I agree that the UFC has enough control over their fighters that this wouldn't likely happen in a UFC event... Especially one on live free TV. And what else do we expect from Gus? Seriously... | |

| Gus Johnson is an atrocious commentator, he's just as bad when he does boxing for Showtime. |

| Strikeforce can use a complete overhaul on commentary. They are the worst of all the promotions right now.
I can't stand Goldberg(who knows exactly shit about the sport, he even gets most of the UFC facts wrong) but i love Rogan. The japan events have the voice and mezger...i even like the Bellator fellas.
...but Mauro, Shamrock, Gus, Quadros...just terrible. You have three guys who used to be lead commentators trying to outshine eachother all the time and Frank Shamrock who pretty much buried the Strikeforce Champion Jake Shields on his way to the cage. If people didnt know any better they would think Henderson got beat by a scrub going by Shamrock's commentary. I don't think a brawl makes them look bush league...shit happens with bad attitudes and bad security but those announcers don't do the product justice.
This does not happen in UFC because UFC gets rid of guys like Diaz, Mayhem for shit like this...but i think if you want all the best fighters you have to take on the guys who don't like to play the game as well. You can't go on pretending like there arent punks in this sport, especially if they are top fighters like the Cesar Gracie team.

| Other than what happened at the end I enjoyed the show so Dana can lick my nutts. I thought they were all good fights. Of course ufc is the majors but the only shit he can talk is about the end imo. | |

| Pretty sure Strikeforce isn't going out of business anytime soon Dana. The only reason why they are relivant is because you burn bridges.
Remember 112 Dana? That was "C-level". Atleast fans didn't have to pay for the Strikeforce card.

| Those C level fighters on 112 would beat the SF guys. Anderson would take out Mo, Mousasi, Hendo (again), and Shields. Then BJ and/or Edgar would beat Gil and Aoki. I'd probably take Penn over Shields too. | |

| I don't think thats the point he was making. UFC 112 was an embarrasement. Those guys on Strikeforce card were top fighters that did not put on a good show and it ended in embarrasement as well...just like the top fighters in UFC, better or not failed to deliver on an event people actually paid money for and that ended in embarrasement.
Also, Gil and Edgar would be a good fight. I'm not fooled by BJ's belt inexcusably being around his waist.

Other than that all I see DW saying is " Everyone thinks I am anti-competition, but I am not. Now let me badmouth the competition!" I also think he is jealous that he didn't get CBS.

| Rome's having him back on the radio show tomorrow. I'm curious to see what his reaction will be on a radio show that allows him to have some room. I think he's going to cut loose... | |

| I don't think Dana is jealous they got CBS. If he wanted them he can have them but those big networks arent ready to give anybody, UFC included the power they want over their product. I'm sure every term they have with Strikeforce works in their favor and they can decide if they want to promote an event a little or a lot...or pull out of the agreement to have SF do a few shows a year anytime they want. I think CBS failed Strikeforce with Nashville. Those fighters would be pretty easy sells if advertised right but CBS even spelt Mousasi's name wrong in one of their ads.
UFC has a money deal with SpikeTV. SpikeTV is a haven for the target demographic and they allow UFC and even the pro wrestling company TNA the freedom to run their business model..not dictate it like i think CBS/Showtime are doing with Strikeforce.

| Strikeforce is A level and Dana knows it. All their champions are top ten and arguably top five in their weightclass and Dana wants all of them to fight in the UFC. | |

| Ya. He wants Jake Sheilds, he is UFC level and one of the best. Ya, he wants Mousasi, he is UFC level and one of the best. Ya, Nick Diaz, he is good and should be in the UFC too. Ya, Fedor, he wants to sign him more than anyone.
Dana better shut up and stop legitimizing all SF's champions.

Dana better shut up and stop legitimizing all SF's champions. DW wants 5-6 guys and that is it imo. You can't be A league with 1-2 guys in each division. I think it is more because they are growing the right way and can develope the talent in the future.

You'd be surprised "I think that's awesome. I think that's great. Strikeforce is a good show. They've been putting on good fights for a long time. They run a great business. It's good. That's a good thing. It's a positive thing." "These guys run a real promotion," added White. "They know how to run a promotion. They don't try to tamper with fights. They don't have (expletive) goofballs from backyard barbecues fighting. It's a good thing. I hope they do ten million viewers next week."
