| This is fucking madness. BJ wasn't in a hint of danger in that fight, out landed Edgar, and only truly lost one round.
I'm no BJ hugger, I just have eyes and know how to score fights. Joe and Goldie I think yet again play a huge role in how this fight is seen by masses. It's truly amazing to me how people are influenced by others.
Forrest beat Rampage. Machida beat Shogun. Those decisions were valid. This one is a sham.

| wow I really can't believe anyone is calling this "robbery". I saw to the fights twice now and I really don't see how anyone can think it was that bad of a decision. It was a very close fight, no one got robbed. Surprised by some people's reactions. | |

| I think penn won but it was closer then i thought. I rewatched it 3 times and BJ clearly landed more punches while frankly just seemed more active since he had non-stop movement (which in reality i believe he threw less). Either way BJ was way closer to winning this fight then machida was to beating shogun. I believe people give Frankie more credit in the win JUST BECAUSE BJ was supposed to blow him out. This does not mean just because it was not a blow out that BJ loss. | |

| a robbery is when a guy wins 4 to 5 rounds and loses, Bj did not dominate that fight at all
It was close
there is no robbery in a close down to the wire decision.
Ok so a judge had it 50-45, 2 other judges had it 49-46 and 48-47.
Those close rounds, BJ didnt dominate one of them, thats how titles are lost.
Did Dan Severn take the belt from Ken Shamrock?
I dont think so, he got a close split decision.
First belt in UFC history and the 2nd champion didnt have to "take" the belt

First belt in UFC history and the 2nd champion didnt have to "take" the belt In the old days the fights were not even sanctioned and all judging was questionable. The only problem I have is not that BJ Penn lost (because even though I believe he won I can see how either fighter could have won) its that the judging from fight to fight is not the same. If they gave Machida a victory when he clearly lost because they felt Shogun had to go after the Champ and beat him THEN according to that criteria BJ Penn won way more convincingly then Machida.

IDK it was a weird fight, I thought it was a close title fight alot liekBJ vs Jens first time, It was controversial too, I scored it a draw and BJ would have kept his title, but I had 3rd even and think if anyone won it it was Edgar

But Jens did land more then frankie did. In the end I can see how all of us can have the results as draws, a win for Penn, or a win for Edgar, but the judging needs some extreme revamping.

| BJ won that fight. I gotta give props to Frankie for being able to compete with BJ on the feet. But BJ got the better of the exchanges. How can anyone argue Frankie won any of the first 3 rounds? I amazed by those thinking otherwise, I respect your opinions of course, I watched it 3 times trying my best to not look at it like a BJ fan. I just don't understand how in a standup fight the guy who lands more doesn't win. | |

Worst decision of all time. Edgar got out struck and completed one and a half takedowns and he unseats a p4p fighter? I've never seen a more unjust title fight with a new champion crowned than this in all of UFC history. BJ won the first three rounds easy, and also round 4.
Don't give a fuck, but if the debate on the first round the challenger won is centered around round 4, in a 5 round fight, it is a fucking robbery.
BJ Penn without a bum knee might literally try to kill Edgar in the rematch. Gotta go with Wolf here. I don't think it was THAT close enough to call Edgar the winner. Clearly the fight was closer than we all thought but that isn't reason to make Edgar the champ. I think BJ won the first 3 rounds and the 4th was a toss up. I don't think it was as close as the Machida vs Shogun fight becasue I think BJ clearly outscored Edgar in the first 3 rounds. Still have a bad taste in my mouth over this card. lol

| I seriously don't get it. I am amazed by the reactions of some. If people really think BJ CLEARLY won 3 rounds then, wow, I don't know to tell you. That is just crazy how anyone can see any clear cut 3 rounds for either fighter. Amazed about how some can think this razor close fight was anything but that. I watched it twice and seriously can't see all the complaining. | |

| Upon rewatch, I still score it for Edgar, just differently than I did before. I see it as the first 2 for Penn and the last 3 for Edgar. The third round was the hardest for me to decide, and maybe I should've given it a 10-10, but when it comes down to it, I felt like Edgar's strikes were more effective, less grazing shots. | |

| According to the memberlist, there have been 40 online sometime between yesterday and today. Apparently 10 decided not to vote. I was a bit shocked at the number as well since most polls struggle to get 20 votes. | |
