| I just can't believe how bad we're gonna be. I was trying to be a glass half full kinda guy...then we open the season dropping three straight to the fucking Giants. Of course, I didn't expect them to beat Lincecum but I expected to at least win one game in the fucking series. | |

3 games is a little early to push judgement in a 162 game season, dont ya think?

Our offense is going to be shit this year and I doubt the pitching will be much better than shit. I hope they turn it around quickly but I just have little faith in this team and especially in the GM.

| I feel the pain. It's just rough starting out against 3 very good pitchers and pretty much getting shut down. Then we finally get to Cain in the 3rd game and our pen who has been good so far blows it. I think the Giants are going to content out west. There are 4 good teams, but I wouldn't call any of them very good or great at this point.
I'll never give up on the 'stros until they're mathematically out. I've learned my lesson in the 04-06 seasons.

Hell, Oswalt doesn't even look like an ace anymore and Wandy better get his head out of his ass or we're screwed. We need Berkman big time and I hope they bring that catcher up from the minors (can't remember his name right now) so they can get Towles the fuck out of there. One reason I'm so bummed is because of Roy O. He's been my favorite pitcher since he came into the league as a young gun with Wade Miller and Carlos whateverthefuck. I don't want to see his career go down the toilet so soon. His start on opening day wasn't horrible but it wasn't vintage Roy O either.

I kind of hope last year had to do with that world baseball classic or whatever the hell it was called. Roy is getting older so I don't expect 18 wins and 3.00 ERA, but I think he's still good for 14-15 (if he gets run support) and a high 3 ERA. Wand, Myers, and Norris is much better than what we've had as a 2-4 punch the past few years (Woody, Hampton, Jennings, Chacon, Backe) so I'm still somewhat optimistic. We get healthy and a Bourne, Pence, Berkman, Lee, Blum combo aint too shabby. And the catching you're thinking of is Castro. He's 2(I think) years out of Stanford.

And the catching you're thinking of is Castro. He's 2(I think) years out of Stanford. Yeah Castro, it would be so nice to have a catcher who is actually competent at the plate...we haven't had that since Bidge played there. I actually think Roy can still be a 20 game winner on the right team. It's tough to win that much when your offense is garbage. Last year, I have to believe, was an aberration. I think his style will always give him hamstring problems, though. He gets a lot of his power from his legs and his stretch/delivery puts a lot of pressure on his hamstring. Hopefully he can stay off the DL this year. If Wandy can duplicate what he did last season we have a bonified number 2. Myers needs to stay healthy and he can be a decent number 3. Norris is still a relative unknown. He had some moments last year but I'm still undecided on whether he can be a legit major leaguer. Blum sucks at the plate, period. I'd rather see them bring up a youngster and see if he can cover third. The bottom line with the Stros is that they're a what if team. If a lot of things go right they could compete for a wild card.

I hate the Braves. Bobby Cox, Chipper Jones... They used to boot the Stros from the first round of the playoffs on a yearly basis.

Regardless of how horrible the team is doing...Minute Maid is a great place to watch a ball game. Crawford Boxes are great, too. Great atmosphere there and it's always fun to get there for batting practice if you're sitting in the Crawford Boxes.

They should be better than the Stros this season at least. The Cards are the clear favorite and the Cubbies aren't living up to expectations. They could realistically finish 3rd or 4th in the division. Probably behind the Cards and Brewers at least. Still to early to tell.

| The Reds pitching is the shit. Its just a matter of them scoring runs. This team is looking at a rotation of Cueto, Volquez, Bailey, Leake and Chapman over the next few years if people stay healthy | |

me and my dad were talkin about that the other day and it's nice to see they have a decent bullpen they're puttin together. I agree tho they need to score runs, but i think there headed in the right direction w/ votto, bruce, and the few other pieces they've picked up
