The Real Trials of the Century

Gets tossed around everytime a big trial comes around but ehre are 5 that I think have a case for trials of the century 1900-2000


5. Leopold and Loeb - 2 elitist teenagers, both intelligently bright, decide to murder someone and get away with it. Murder young child only to get caught, Clarence Darrow the great lawyer, came to their defense and gave the single greatest argument against the death penalty. EVER, Period. Leopold and Loeb were sentenced to Life, plus 99 years???? 1924 and the Nation was following day by day.

4. Scopes "Monkey" Trial - Clarence Darrow defending evolution this time as a teacher was facing charges for teaching evolution. Darrow loses initially but later in the 1960's this trials outcome is reversed.

3. Rodney King Officers - This thing had the nation paying close attention. Outcome lead to massive riots. Did not affect you or me, but everyone watched. Thats what makes a Trial of the Century.

2. OJ Simpson - Ditto 3, minus the riots. Probably number 1. Taught the world about the importance of D.N.A. evidence

1. Lindenburg Kidnapping Trial - Arguably the most famous american in the world has his baby kidnapped, killed, and then ransomed. Sad sad story. Nut bag killed the baby no more than 5 miles away from Lindenburgs house after sneaking into the house with a ladder.

H.M. - Bill Clinton trial, Charles Manson, the Rosenbergs, Scottsboro Boys.
