Vera's cheek destroyed...

I guess it was broken in three places as a result of that elbow from hell. I feel like Vera is consistently a victim of bad circumstance.

On a side note, I think Jones has the best takedowns in the division. After tossing Hamill and now Vera, a guy that Couture couldn't take down, he may have the division's best wrestling. Even though he is a Greco guy, don't his throws look more like something you would see in Judo?

To say he is a "Greco" guy is a bit unfounded. He found his best success in folkstyle where he won a Junior College National Championship. Either way, a common misconception is that some throws are judo and some are wrestling, etc etc. Judo throws are all taught in wrestling as well, just under different names, with slight variations because you cant grab onto anything in a wrestling match. They both have a lot of the same techniques. Either way, a throw is a throw. Jone's wrestling seems like it will only be matched by Phil Davis or Mo Lawal at this point.

Yeah i said that right after the fight last night that the way he turned and pretty much quit the fight that he had some facial damage. I thought it was either a broken jaw or busted ear drum or something. Vera was dominated from the start and I cant wait to see Bones Jones fight again.

I actually thought it was a busted orbital because of the way it bruised up real fast next to his eyebrow like. But yeah you could tell something bad went down just by the sound it made when the elbow landed. Sounded like someone tore open a watermelon or something.

Judo throws all the way. He throws people like Cung does.....or did!

I gotta admit I was buzzed when I watched the fight and I was hatin on Vera cause I thought he just pussied out. But I take all that back when someone really brakes your face yeah I wouldn't want no more either

Yeah, Vera has always been a tough guy. I'm starting to think he doesn't have the right bone structure for MMA. He broke his hands against Sylvia and now this. He just looks long and lean, which could be bad from a design stand-point. Certain guys just keep breaking bones, while others never do. Maybe there's something to that.
