| From TV Tipps » News und Infos rund ums Fernsehen if du kanst read zhe German. - http://www.tv-tipps.net/12.59 million viewers watched last night's fight. That's 52.8% of all germans watching tv at that time and a new record for the Cologne-based broadcaster. It was also the most viewed broadcast so far in 2010 for all broadcasters and mind you that they just had the olympics. I think this deserves it's own thread because it's about the succes of boxing elsewhere besides America. And it's been discussed a lot of times already but nobody would believe over half a country would watch a big Boxing fight. So is this how dead Boxing is? It just shows the only problem in Boxing is the corruption, because this was free tv and look at the numbers.

| Good thread ninja. Also, consider this in light of the fact Germany just banned MMA from broadcast TV.
Clearly Germans love combat sports. But, maybe the country's love affair with boxing is part of the reason why MMA to many in Germany(not all, not by a long shot) is barbaric and hard to relate to from their perspective. | |

| That is alot of viewers but to be honest I think a sporting event like that in Germany isnt against other sports. My point is in America there may be UFC on a saturday night but also there can be college football or college basketball or NBA or Hockey or another boxing fight. Point is there is so many different sporting events to watch in the US that I wonder if its that way in Germany also. | |

| Boxing has never been dead and never will be.
Honestly though I don't get why Germany loves The Klitschko's so much , their fights are dull. |
