WEC fighters outside of Faber would become bigger names when more people see them fight. I don't think it would be long for those unfamiliar with the FWs and BWs became big fans after seeing how exciting and talented some of them are. LOL LA. The UFC will absorb the WEC either way, and that won't hinge on what Strikeforce does either way in all reality.
Counting the WEC will take many multiples of 50 dollars out of Zuffa's pocket, and would allow them to go essentially unchallenged, commanding a healthy percentage of the viewers.
If they go up against Kimbo and Wanderlei, they lose a significant share of both hardcore and casual fans, all Japanese coverage and interest, and would probably suffer from less stateside coverage too. Bad, bad idea.
As a promoter, you always like it if, you know, people actually see your fights. I know you didn't mean Wand vs Kimbo, but how cool of a fight would that be. I'd love to see the Axe Murderer KO Kimbo.

| So adding more depth to 155, the biggest pool of 145 and 135lb fighters outside of Japan isn't going to make the UFC more formidable? One of Strikeforce's main attractions is the womens division because no other major organization in the US has it. If the UFC incorporates the best Featherweighs and Bantamweights in the world to it's ranks that takes away from Strikeforce's womens division because historically mens fighting has always been more popular than womens fighting at similar weight classes.
WEC has proven to be very entertaining and the only thing hindering it's exposure is it being broadcast on Versus exclusively. Merge the 155 pounders into the UFC's Lightweight division, along with the 145/135lb ranks and those exciting fights occupy prime real estate on UFC shows. What it represents is more contenders in the deepest division in the UFC(Lightweight division in my opinion), as well as two more divisions with a majority of each divisions top ten fighters right off the bat.
