| I feel if the current UFC Champion can clean out the division of a with re-match with Mir, then on to Cain, JDS, & Nog without a loss, he would be the best HW in the world. It is not only who you have fought, but who have you fought recently. Sorry if the big "Fedor beats the shit out of Werdum" bout isn't pumping up his status, but that is on Fedor & M-1. | |

| I think the people who actually do research on whether Fedor is easy to hit are more reliable than the guy who cites Hong Man Choi as an example of how easily fedor gets hit. You also cited Andrei Arlovski's 3 minutes of "kinda beating" Fedor as another example of how easy Fedor gets hit. There is not a heavyweight in the UFC that has the boxing skills that AA has, he just has been cursed with a bad chin, which Fedor exploited. AA would pick apart most fighters in the UFC until they caught him as well.
He's number 1 until he loses.

He's number 1 until he loses. Well put. I don't think any UFC is a better striker than AA.

| Pretty simple... As long as he's been on top, he doesn't get knocked off until he loses despite the talent differences. Yes, anyone with a bit of sense knows the SF HW pool is much weaker in comparison, but it doesn't matter as long as Fedor doesn't lose. But, in many fans perception, his stock is already dropping and will continue to drop as long as he's content beating AA, Grim, Werdum and Bigfoot rather than taking on the UFC's top talent. | |

He's number 1 until he loses. Well put. I don't think any UFC is a better striker than AA. I've never bought the AA as an elite striker-hype, primarily because I've never seen it. JDS would take him on the feet, believe that.

| I don't think Fedor will fight Overeem or Barnett. Both seem like pipe-dreams at this point and I'm not sure if the strength of schedule for 2009-10 with Rogers and Werdum is enough. Especially if, like others have noted, someone were to go through three top five guys this alone, and in addition to an already impressive record.
To Wolf, I think you're picking and choosing your points here. Guys are only at their best when they face Fedor, while everyone else is fighting schmucks. That's total nonsense.
I personally believe that Nog has looked the best he has EVER been against Couture, just his last fight. You can tell his striking is better than he's ever had it by training in Blackhouse with his brother and Anderson, and I'm sure his jits is probably better than his early years in Pride. Like it or not, Nog is still great, just Cain and Frank Mir are better.
