Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin?

Forrest Griffin has been teasing people on his Facebook page today. With a simple post, Ace…. Griffin let people speculate that he may be fighting Rich Franklin next. A few minutes later it was taken down. ATO has confirmed with a source at Xtreme Couture that the fight is possible for the Spring but nothing was official as of yet.

Griffin is coming off a big win at UFC 106 over Tito Ortiz. Forrest needed a strong showing after dropping two straight to Anderson Siva and Rashad Evans.

Rich Franklin has dropped off the radar since his first round loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC 103. “Ace” was coming off a Fight of the Night performance at UFC 99 against Wanderlei Silva.

The fight would be big for both guys. Both need a win to get back into title contention and would likely draw a lot of interest since both are very popular with the fans.

Nowadays, it takes a lot for me to get interested in a Rich Franklin fight, but this sounds pretty good and i could see it turning into a memorable battle if it happens

Awesome fight. Would be a stand up war. It'd be interesting seeing Franklin actually at 205 fighting a legit LHW

I can't wait for this one, if true. Rich & Forrest are two of my favorite fighters and have been looking forward to this one for a while now. Hopefully Rich is healthy after his ab surgery.

It's a good fight for Rich and Forrest. These guys need to do something positive, they are slippin as of late.

Yeah both these guys have life, but if Franklin loses, he should return to MW full-time, if Forrest loses, he's the gate-keeper for a long time.

True, very tre, what I mean though is this will be all action
not so much high skill level of the mixed martial arts

Gatti vs Ward, one of the greatest fights ever, but severly lacking in high skill level

this would be a classic fight with no fighter having the upper hand and should be a hell of a match up. I would have to give ace the nod via UD cause he is more accurate but forrest can handle his power and will keep coming. Im pumped and its not even confirmed. These are two of my favorite fighters.

Fight makes perfect sense for both guys and honestly I have no idea who wins which is always good for a fight to me.

They are similar enough that I think Forrest wins because of his size. The only potential problem is it turns into a leg kicking contest and there isn't any major action.

I dont see that happening at all. Forrest is bigger but I think Ace hits harder.

Not sure I could watch it... Doesn't happen too often but I hate when two fighters I like go toe to toe. Tough to watch a fight when you aren't pulling for one guy even a little...

That is how Hendo-Franklin & Nog-Couture was for me.

My biggest problem with this fight is I don't feel comfortable picking either to win.

Me either. I think I would go with Ace but I not confident at all.

I think Franklin would win a decision, it'd be close
