| If Saben doesn't get "cute" early on Bama would have 30+ on the board. | |

| This sucks cause Texas had a good shot to be up 14-0 or at least 10-0. Texas is so predictable on offense with this backup that Bama has no trouble shutting them down. This may be the first time I ever seen a shovel pass intercepted though lol. | |

| The game became insignificant after McCoy went down, I think Texas would have won, but who knows. I haven't watched since the first quater, total buzz kill. On one side Texas fans are down about McCoy, on the other Bama fans will have to hear about a win that might not have been had McCoy played | |

| Texas would have lost regardless. That defense has not stopped the run at all like I figured it wouldnt.
Texas is always overrated on run defense...just like last year when my Buckeyes faced a "great Texas run defense"
and then beanie wells marches in and rushed for over 100 yards in the first half before he got injured.
Yeah, Texas started out sort of on top of things and pumped up...but to only come out with 6 points WITH Mccoy in the game off of those two turnovers was inexcusable.
Even with Mccoy in this game they wouldnt have scored more than 13-17 points.

| tu has a great run defense because they face a bunch of pass happy spread teams that don't run the ball. Then tu gets a big lead early so teams are forced to pass against them to try to catch up.
If anyone was paying attention on Turkey Day, A&M ran for for almost 200 yards and 10 first downs.

| Bro that was a total downer and momentum shift, this is undeniable, it could have been 14-0 or likely 10-0. The backup did nothing, I'm not buying that Texas couldn't have easily won the game with their starting QB in. | |

| The starting QB has nothing to do with the run defense. | |

| But it has a lot to do with the game, how does losing ur best player not impact the game when u probably would have been up 10, Ingram is lost in the first series, I bet that has no impact. | |

It has an impact but no matter hat tu is not stopping the run. Bama did lose Ingram and Richardson is doing just fine.

| Wow I just checked the score and its only 24-13 Bama, Texas's backup is 7-28 passing, and 14 of Bama's points were score within I believe 4 possesions after McCoy went out, McCoy going down was the game | |

| Mccoy wouldnt have won the game either. He couldnt punch the ball in from inside Bama's territory when he was in for a whole drive.
The offense would have been better no doubt but he wouldnt have won the game...Bama's defense is just too solid this year.

| Not buying it when their back up is 7-28 and it's a 24-13 game, the backup handed Bama 14 points by not being able to move the ball handing them amazing field position. | |

| Great comeback by Texas but Alabama isnt going to get beat by a backup QB. That defense is way to good for that. | |

| I think Texas would've won if Colt hadn't gone down. Hell they were in the game til the end with a true freshman running the offense. The Horns' defense played great last night, especially in the second half. It's a shame to see such a great career end like that in the national title game, though.
On the bright side, Garrett Gilbert settled in and looked very good for a true freshman in the second half. I think he has a bright future at Texas.

That definitely hurt Texas, how couldn't it??? However, they still looked good and the defense completely shut Bama down in the second half. The D-line was giving McElroy fits all night. I WISH they would've thrown the ball more because it probably would've led to more turnovers and it definitely would've led to more sacks. It was still a great game, though. Gilbert looks like a promising young QB. I thought he did a great job when put in a high pressure situation.

McElroy is not very good. He would have been maybe in the top 6 in the Big XII when it comes to QBs. Gilbert is going to be very very good. Probably better than McCoy.

| Better than McCoy I dont know thats tough to say, but he should be good. I think he made so big time throws to get Texas back in it and the experience gained from playing in a title game is huge for the kid. | |

Absolutely. He was obviously off in the first half which is not a surprise considering the magnitude of the game. In the second half he gained a ton of confidence when he hit Shipley for the first touchdown. Who knows what would've happened if Bama hadn't caused the fumble on that last drive...Gilbert may have led a game winning drive.

| I would have loved to have seen how this game goes if Colt doesn't go down. For those of you that said it wouldn't have mattered have the football IQ of Paris Hilton. I'm not saying that Texas certainly wins, but that game goes much differently... | |

Yep. At least Colt didn't pull a Tim Tebow and cry like a girl about having to leave the game.
