| Daley came in at 172 pounds and was given 1-2 hours to make 171 pounds. He still failed to make weight so the fight will now be held at a catch-weight of 172 pounds. Daley has to surrender 10 percent of his purse to Hazelett. | |

| Yeah that does suck especially when they have an extra hour or so to lose a pound. | |

| Missing weight usually means the fighter is injured and couldn't do the cardio they needed. You think fighters like being embarrassed, pissing off Dana, being drained from all the extra attempts at losing weight, penalized and then fighting a fight that has less rankings significance considering it is now a catchweight fight?
I don't see it as some sign of disrespect as everyone else on forums tend to, apart from Diaz and maybe Alves(where it's more a sign of him and ATT's in general use of substances to cut failing to do the job) as much as a simple sign of injury(or in the lady Cyborg's case, being too large for the division you are forced to fight in + smelly tampons in the trash)

He missed weight against both Nick Thompson(1 pound over) and John Alessio(4 pounds over).

| Really? Now I am less likely to give him the benefit of the doubt. Still, look how shitty and slow he was with his hands against the Goat, who took him apart standing. Still may be injured, but maybe he needs to move on at this point.
How'd he do in the Alessio fight?

From what I read: A source close to the situation informed MMAWeekly.com that during his examination by Nevada State Athletic Commission officials, Daley “appeared wobbly,” so they would not allow him to do anything further to tax his body to make weight. Commission officials apparently were concerned that any further weight cut might be too much of a health risk.

| 1 pound he didnt even try to lose it in that time period, thats apparent, he must have felt like trying to would leave him drained although 1 pound is not that hard to drop, Ive seen gus lose 3-5 pounds in that tiem period I doub this means he was hurt, 1 pound over just means he was where he was and didnt want to attempt making weight IMO | |

| i disagree with the cardio statement wolf. He could surely ride an aerodyne. Plus most guys in fighting shape just cut water and dont have to do lots of extra cardio to get weight. They should be getting that cardio in practice. | |

| Doesn't surprise me, Daley is awful bulky for a welterweight. |

He's still smaller than most top WWs though. GSP, Fitch, Alves, Swick, Kampman, etc...

| Oh well, Hazelett will get even more money after his win bonus and sub of the night.
He did look out of it at the weigh ins.
