| Thiago will be a tough opponent for Rashad
And Shogun fought the perfect fight against Machida, but still lost, Lyoto will learn and adapt, I fully expect him to win the 2nd match, he'll most likely press the action more

| machida saying that he's looking for the KO against shogun tells me that he hasnt learned much from the first fight. shogun can cover up pretty well, and if machida is swinging for the fences looks like it's gonna be a close fight again. | |

| First off, he says he'll end the controversy by knocking Shogun out, not that he's going to go out like Hendo vs. Bisping hands up just chasing him looking for the KO. And Nor did he fight that way in the first fight, so not sure where the didn't learn much comes from. He fought in typical Machida fashion, staying on the outside, looking to counter, which got him in some trouble as Shogun landing a ton of leg and body kicks. But when, the few times, Machida pressed the action, he had Shogun backed aginst the fence in some trouble. Machida will never be a swing for the fences fighter, and pressing the action more would be a good move. He also knows what to expect in terms of leg and body kicks, cause that was pretty much Shoguns whole fight. | |

| LA wins there. Also, this whole Shogun covers up business is only true when he isn't throwing punches, because there he does look counterable. Isn't a concern when you make no effort to end the fight and are content to throw thigh kicks the whole fight though I guess.
I have Rashad as a heavy favorite due to speed. But Thiago really claims to be improving his hand speed via boxing technique. It's possible, there was a time when Rashad's speed was not thought of like it is now, but he has worked on his skills and looks much quicker than he used to be. The same is true of Rampage.
Take no stock into what Machida says about that fight. Brazilians always pick eachother.

I dont think he was fighting typical machida style the first fight and he was really trying to win with a KO(probably to further legitimize himself to critics and mma fans), that's why he never found shogun's rythm and wasnt scoring as much on the cards. The real machida style is the one that pick aparts his opponent and outscore them on the cards... but clearly he developed a slightly different mentality after the 2 consecutive KO's, like the old saying goes, "you gain something, you also will lose something" i hope he doesnt think he can KO all of his opponents, cause obviously he cant. and against a really experienced fighter like shogun who leaves very few openings, he might have to grind it out on the scorecards. Machida by UD next fight.

He has (or had) power, but he was twice the fighter when he used his wrestling, kicks, & more than just the overhand right. Same with Kos. He is at his best when he using his wrestling along with striking. Look what happen when Thiago KOed him then look what Kos did to Rumble with a balanced offense.

Bro, he was laying back looking to counter, the distance left him open to leg and body kicks, same old Mackida style, but he obviously didn't anticipate the game plan from Shogun. Not buying what ur trying to sell at all.
