pure boxing: Penn vs Noons....

In the cage, MMA rules, is Noons even in the discussion in terms of pure boxing skills?

And I know Penn outclasses Noons on the ground, but Penn's game is really, stand and throw hands. Noons is a pro boxer(granted not overly successful) who made the long armed, solid striking Nick Diaz look like a one dimensional JJ player.

I know everyone will say Penn, but is Noons even in the debate.

The difference though is Roach was training Arlovski and had to say some shit. Roach loves to hear himself talk and have his name in the press. Was he supposed to say AA has started boxing and he doesn't stand a chance against anyone I have no idea why he's even doing this. True to some extent, but he could have easily said Arlovski has improved leaps in bounds since joining my gym. He needs to get in the ring to show where he really is.

What is a thread ender is the hook Noons crushed dude with at the end of round one. Never seen a hook in MMA so nice. Gurgel is flicking these armpunches at him everywhere and all of a sudden WHAM!

While Penn clearly has the best jab in MMA, I think Noon's clearly has the best body punching in the sport.

Noons is a better boxer.

Both have very good boxing. One difference for sure is that Noons throws with way more power and BJ seems content with throwing jabs most of the time. Because of their style differences I think Noons might work BJ in a straight up boxing match.

BJ used to KO everyone back in the day man. I think he should fight a bit more aggressively on his feet.

BJ should be more aggressive, and I think we'll see him more aggressive at 118 against Edgar.

But on the OP, I think its a lot closer than ppl think.
