Invicta FC 6: Cyborg vs. Coenen 2 Date: July 13, 2013 Location: Kansas City, Missouri Venue: Ameristar Casino Hotel Broadcast: Online PPV MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 9 p.m. ET)
Just three days before its next event, Invicta Fighting Championships has seen another change to its card.
Visa issues will force Canadian fighter Charmaine Tweet (4-3) out of her featherweight fight against Ediane Gomes (10-2) on the main card of Invicta FC 6. Stepping in to face Gomes will be Tamikka Brents (2-0). Promotion officials late Wednesday confirmed a report of the injury from MMARising.com.
Invicta FC 6 takes place Saturday at Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. The event airs on pay-per-view in North America, and international viewers can watch via an online pay-per-view stream, each for $14.95.
Gomes now faces her third opponent on the card. She was originally scheduled to meet Julia Budd (5-2), but Budd suffered a neck injury that took her out of the fight. She was replaced by Tweet only two weeks ago, and Tweet now is out as well.
The 24-year-old Brents made her Invicta debut in January, taking a unanimous decision from Amanda Bell at Invicta FC 4. She made her pro debut this past November, picking up a first-round TKO for a regional promotion near St. Louis, not far from her home base of Springfield, Ill. Over a 27-month amateur career, "Boom Boom" went 8-0-2 with six six first-round stoppages.
Gomes, a Brazilian, is coming off an injury that knocked her out of a fight against Cristiane Santos at Invicta FC 5. For that bout, she originally was scheduled to meet Budd before being asked to step up to meet the newly signed "Cyborg." She has a four-fight win streak, including a pair of Invicta wins over Hiroko Yamanaka in January and a submission of Katalina Malungahu in October. Her most recent loss was more than two years ago to UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Tweet would have been making her Invicta debut on a three-fight win streak. In June, she submitted Amanda Bell in regional action in Canada, and in March, she stopped Sy Jewett with a rear-naked choke, as well. This pastNovember, she caught Puja Kadian with a guillotine choke at Super Fight League 10 in India. All three wins came in the first round.

I hate how they went to PPV. I'll buy OneFC to see the Samurai Spirit but I won't pay for this. Even though it will likely be pretty entertaining. I guess I'd consider a $9.99 PPV. How much is it anyways?
Ummm yeah me no read. $14.95? Ehhh, I think I'll pass.

That is steep. Although, Invicta has been pretty good because a lot of these girls fight with chip on their shoulder. They bring it pretty good in a lot of their matches the past year.
