If you can get 132,000 fans to show up and watch a bunch of cars drive in a circle, then surely you can have just as many turn out to see a bunch of guys beat the crap out of each other. Right?

Gentlemen, start your engines.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White likes to go big, or go home. In this case, he may be able to do both. The leader of the world's preeminent mixed martial arts (MMA) organization recently told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he has a handful of fights capable of pulling off a massive outdoor event.

How massive?

Try the 132,000 seats inside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a venue that White insists could work, according to the report, with the right weather -- as well as the right fights -- as early as September. And that's just fine with Speedway President Chris Powell, who said the pairing "makes sense."

Tell that to the fans in the bleachers.

White has long flirted with the idea of a stadium show, including a fizzled fantasy fight between Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko that was "right there" back in 2012. Other venues on the promotion's radar include a soccer stadium in Brazil (see his full list here).

The promotion had no problem setting the North American attendance record at UFC 129: "St. Pierre vs. Shields" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which drew an astounding 55,724 fight fans. To fill the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, however, it would need nearly three times that amount.

Can anyone think of a fight that possibly could do it?

As I've said before they would need the card of all cards to fill out a capacity like that. The problem is the UFC relies on cards each month so they are not going to put all their eggs in one basket.

They wouldn't be able to sell out the place, it's too big, but use the centerpiece of the main grandstand. They could also sell tickets significantly marked down form arena prices. Pro Wrestling used to do huge shows in open air baseball stadiums in the 80's with the ring around home plate or the pitchers mound. This could work if they put the cage right near the start finish line on the grass and surround the pit side with bleachers. Bristol Motor Speedway would be much better for a stadium type event though.

Stupid idea IMO. Would be better and more comfortable to go after a domed NFL stadium like in Arizona, Dallas, Indy, New Orleans. Something like that would be much, much better IMO.
