Looking forward too...... 2013 edition

Right now there are three games I a clearly looking forward to playing more than any others

Last of Us - PS3 - June 14th

Battlefield 4 - Xbox 360 - Fall

Batman: Arkham Origins - Xbox 360 - October 25th

Deadpool - Xbox 360 - June 25th
Remember Me - Xbox 360 - June 4th

No love for GTA? Looks fun to me.

More into Batman sandbox then GTA.

I understand liking it more, but GTA seems like it still has it's moments. I like Assasins Creed more but I can still get down with GTA or Red Dead...which I should really start playing again eventually.

Yeah I made the new thread a minute after looking at the one you made last year because it's pretty insufficient if the games were looking forward to are to be selected from a a handful of games you selected for a poll. The gaming season is Fall, most of these games already came out, a lot of games people are looking forward to aren't included in the topic at all. If you want a thread asking which one of these games you listed are you looking forward to, well you have it. This thread is about any game coming out between now and the gaming season you have your eye on.

I have my eye on AC4 for sure. I have until October to finish AC3, but atleast I'm started on it.

Been playing FIFA 2013 at a buddies every now and then. Considering Buying FIFA 2014 this September also, with 2014 being a cup year. Used to play the shit out of that game on Playstation.

Fifa games are awesome. They have been awesome for forever it seems. The last one I played was the South Africa World Cup Fifa. Loved it.
I use to have this game called Worldwide Soccer on Sega Saturn(won it for free, game and system). It was an awesome game. I loved the controls on that game.

I was talking about this last night with a friend about one of the significant parts of why I'd buy one type of sandbox/freeroam over another. In GTA you can do a lot, a whole lot, but most of it I end up not wanting to do. I'd never want to get 100% in any post Vice City GTA game. In Arkham City though, it's a lot more focused of an experience, you fight, you stealth, , you find clues, you solve puzzles and advance the story using every mechanic the game offers consistently. I wanted to do every possible thing I was able to do in that game, get 100%. Fallout is sandboxish like this as well and kind of in between the two, much more spatial experience than Arkahm but has more things I ended up wanting to do than a typical city free roamer. Red Dead has a ton of things to do, but I find myself wanting to do a lot of them less and less the more I play. A lot of these types of games become to work/task orientated. Right now Arkham City has the best combination of all the things I like best about a freeroam game today.

What about the Assassin's Creed series and Dead Island? How do you feel about those sandbox type games? The AC series has alot of interesting side missions depending on which game. I really loved the Da Vinci stuff they had.

I thought Dead Island was only okay. It was good at a lot of things but great at nothing I thought. As far as a free roamer goes I didn't have much problem doing everything but it is pretty linear and corralled for the most part. The weapon building was not bad. The story was not good. It seemed pretty lite overall to me. It held my attention for a few weeks but when I finished it, I was finished with it. Have not really been interested in the new one.

Kind of like me and the Batman series. No reason why I haven't played it. Looks like an amazing series, just never got around to it. Still plan to eventually.

The AC series has evolved, the 1st game and the last game don't even feel like the same series anymore. But the 1st one did come out in 2007. Then they changed it up to where you buy property for a couple games and now they switched it up again. Almost like 3 companies made the AC series.
But what always stays the same is the story line is always interesting and the scenery is always amazing.

I've heard that. That the first AC were cool but the repetitiveness got to some people. I should of bought some during that sale though.

Yeah the 1st one gets repetitive for sure. You have to do the same thing over and over to get clues for each target. But that changes alot throughout the series.

I should of got the newest two during that sale.
