| I feel like Glover Teixiera would do better at HW then Jon Jones today. I think he hits hard enough, is tough enough and has enough talent to be in and win a lot more fights north of 205 then would Jones.
2006 Fedor vs Cain Today? And Cain keeps going as the only guy in the HW/Fedor conversation in a very large way. He is the best since if not the Best HW ever already. Not the Goat for reasons of time but that conversation will come eventually I think.
JDS was winning the standup and Hunts striking was not near Dos Santos in speed or accuracy, but the more dangerous striker was taken down to avoid the dangerousness of his striking. Good win for JDS though. I hope Hunt continues his campaign.
Maynard vs Grant was nuts. Though it was short, I'd give it fight of the night. Both ate big shots and the finish was exciting. Grey is tough but hittable, Grant did good by trying to kill the head because Grey is hard to bring down.
I hope Noons comes back too. Cerrone was too big a challenge for a guy like Noons. He beat Couture but he needs to be booked with perspective, the Diaz win was years ago.
The under card was decent. Glad Pyle won, I thought he deserved to. I thought Bermudez lost but it was another very close decision that could of gone either way. Really Glad Whittiker won, he could be an exciting guy in the future and getting by a established grapplefucker now hopefully opens him up for more exciting opponents in the future. Nurmagomedov looked pretty good, Able must be a tough guy to finish or Khabib needs to brush up on his sambo.
8.5/10 card | |

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays. They also do not include portions of the pay-per-view revenue that some top-level fighters receive.
For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $50,000 UFC 160 bonuses to Grant ("KO of the Night"), Teixeira ("Submission of the Night"), and dos Santos and Hunt ("Fight of the Night"). | |
